“Jon has completely surpassed our expectations. With only a month before our building work was due to begin, we felt confused and conflicted about the best layout for our home. We found Fresh Living through Houzz, and what an absolute godsend! Jon listened carefully to everything we needed and saw possibilities in the space that we simply couldn’t see ourselves. Thanks to his clever design, what was originally going to be one utility room has become three practical spaces: a pantry, a separate laundry room and a cloakroom. We didn’t think this would be possible. Jon is incredibly creative, knowledgeable and brilliant at making every inch of space work. “Karen was invaluable throughout our project. From the initial consultation, she quickly understood what we wanted to achieve and brought real clarity to the spatial planning, layout and overall design direction. She particularly shines when it comes to interior architecture and spatial planning. She made a number of thoughtful and practical amendments to the layout originally suggested by our architect, such as moving thr laundry room upstairs and keeping an internal corridor) all of which improved the way the house would work in practice. Her input on lighting, electrical layouts, bespoke joinery, specification and sourcing was also hugely helpful. Karen’s — and Pete’s — drawings, plans and design work made it much easier to visualise the finished spaces and to communicate decisions clearly to the wider team. Karen was also excellent during the build itself: practical, responsive and good at solving problems as they arose. She made regular site visits, liaised well with contractors and helped keep the design intent on track. We particularly valued her attention to detail, her sourcing and procurement support, and the fact that she passed on trade discounts where available. Overall, Karen made a complex project feel much more coherent and considered, and we are very pleased with the outcome.”
