I ordered a lot from Jim Lawrence recently for a new kitchen - light switches, sockets, light fittings and cupboard handles. Everything has been top quality and absolutely beautiful as I had hoped, and the customer service has been outstanding. I've contacted them on several occasions and they are proactive, sensible and very helpful.

Didn't go well at all, ordered 2 wall lights on 1st December, by 11th nothing had arrived so I phoned, to be told that the lights were out of stock and would be delayed until the New Year. I asked for a refund and the lady said she would check again and call me back, no call came. I phoned Jim Lawrence again and explained to another lady and said I needed the lights before Christmas so would go elsewhere and asked for a refund. She said ok and this refund would take 2-5 days. Ok but no refund email received. Anyway I bought from John Lewis and the lights arrived the next day. Oh well, would I use Jim Lawrence again....... or John Lewis??????

We are so sorry to hear of your experience with us. As I am sure you appreciate all our products are uniquely handcrafted in our Suffolk workshop, and the run up to Christmas is a particularly busy time for us, as we have so many valued customers keen to finish their homes for Christmas.

However we always do everything we can to fulfill every order as quickly as possible and are genuinely very sorry that you weren't adequately contacted by our sales staff to explain the reason for the delay you experienced. We will thoroughly investigate what happened here as there is no doubt we should have kept you better informed. Our excellent Suffolk based customer service team is one of our proudest assets, and all feedback to make it even better is always very gratefully received.

Jim Lawrence made us a bespoke curtain pole for a bay window and supplied all the fixtures and fittings. A pole for a bay is a surprisingly fiddly and expensive proposition, but JL's method for having you take measurements is very straightforward and the service is reassuringly personal, with as much back-and-forth as is needed before the order is finalised. We didn't end up putting the pole in for several months and were a wee bit nervous about it, but the fit is absolutely perfect. A much better service, and much better value, than John Lewis, who charge much more.
