About Us

At Lumen Designers Ltd, we are primarily lighting designers who work in and around the West Midlands and London to bring projects to life using light. We are a part of a company incorporated in the UK which also designs luminaires and offers design consultancy to lighting OEMs. In short, we construct light! Our founder has a wealth of experience in luminaires and lighting controls designing installations from airports to zoo exhibits. To enable some of these installations he has had to design his own luminaires and LED light sources to satisfy customer requirements and meet his exacting standards. Thousands of products using his designs have been sold across the world under various well know and international brands; from commercial downlights to decorative feature pieces incorporating the latest LED light engines and other technologies such as BLE (bluetooth low energy) beacons. Whether you require a lighting design for a single 3 bed semi, a prestigious stately home or developing a town, we can accommodate all of these and everything in between. Simple white light, tuneable white LED for healthy living and more complex DMX controlled RGB LED installations for clubs, bars and high end residential properties, etc., are in our portfolio of completed projects for previous clients. We are specialists in delivering lighting excellence for all manor projects and our portfolio of customers return time and time again because we deliver on our promises and your expectations.

Neil has been invaluable when it comes to lighting advice and design. No job is too big or too small and he was also able to source some very attractive designs and then have the internal workings including PIR sensors and emergency lighting battery backups made up and fitted locally thereby reducing our costs. He is always willing to help - highly recommended.

I have worked with Neil on many diverse projects from Care Home Design to Student Living Accomodation, on all projects Neil has been amazing in his knowledge and Attitude. Neil totally understands the industry and how to work with Interior Designers. I know the look I want to achieve, I also know the style of fittings I would like to use, however I need an expert to work out my Lux levels, glare and ensure that the fittings I have selected, fit in with the evidence based design I am following and are suitable for the clientele I am designing for. Neil is extremely Knowledgeable which is why I use him as the Lighting designer on many of my projects.

Since starting The Lumen Architect, we use them as the go to people for lighting solutions for problems that aren’t easily solved.
