MADAME LUMIERE & LA COTONNIERE

I met this young lady during one of my visits to the UK. I was impressed by the goods she had on display and by her attitude towards her customers. You could feel the warmth and respect given to the customers and see for yourself the high quality the goods held with reasonable prices all along. I didn't hesitate for a moment and the day for me was one of happy shopping and contentment. Now I have become a regular customer and I am being informed about new trends. Due to her great taste in decoration, I decided to get her opinion about the re-decoration of my house. During that period I must admit she was the most helpful person with her wonderful ideas and her collaboration. The beautiful lamp shades she made for my living room have been admired by my friends. Her choice of material for the arm chairs and the sofa is just perfect. Above all, she was very punctual about the deadlines of all productions prepared by her company. Now we are on our way with a new project which is the renovation of my summer house. She has already made the preliminary plans. Whenever I stayed with my parents I always loved going into La Cotonniere. I bought many beautiful items from The shop in Marlow in Thames before it relocated to Putney, including a couple of fabulously designed lamps and gorgeous embroidered towels. The service is exceptional and in the case of one lamp, the owner made changes to the lampshade I was giving to a friend as a special birthday present and then posted the lamp to me where I live in Carlisle. Nothing was too much trouble. The lamps are beautiful, unique and make fantastic gifts.

We have faithfully purchased from La Cotonniere since its inception. Service has been outstanding and personal. Products are extremely varied with an emphasis on quality and design. Towels, little girls nightgowns, bedding to bathroom scents and lotions to throw rugs and all the pot and dishes to hold them; all are of such quality that I found no other place where this type of merchandise could be found much less at such competitive prices. Since we have now relocated to Texas I treasure both the products as well as the memories. I return to the UK in March for the dog show, Crufts, and will be staying a few extra days to visit the shop now in Putney. Clair Chryssolor
