Susan Lake Lighting Design is an award winning architectural lighting design consultancy, specialising in designing independent lighting schemes for commercial and residential projects. Led by Susan Lake who has over 15 years of design experience covering a range of projects from around the world. Having worked on many luxury projects we understand what is required to achieve a very high standard of design quality. We offer a considered, integrated approach to lighting, working with interior designers, architects and clients to create imaginative, inspiring and cost effective designs. Our main objective is to create beautiful, concealed lighting schemes that enhance the space and bring architectural features, textures and finishes to life. We have used Susan Lake for the design of the lighting of our recently built House Boat. There were particular needs to not only create an impressive atmosphere ( both inside and outside ) but also to ensure that the power consumption was kept to a minimum - as this House Boat is designed to be Carbon Neutral ( or nearly so ! ) Susan Lake was particularly helpful in sourcing competitive suppliers for a somewhat complicated overall lighting installation.

I have worked alongside Susan as a designer and she is highly respected in our 'design world'. Fantastic ideas, wonderful personality which makes her easy to approach, and extremely hard working. I commissioned SLLD to provide a lighting scheme for my Grade A listed apartment in the Old Town in Edinburgh. The particular design challenge was to highlight a long, quite dark hall with a barrel vaulted ceiling. The SLLD solution exceeded my expectations with discreet floor lighting complimented by clever illumination that highlighted the Victorian ceiling features. Overall the apartment has been transformed with the lighting scheme. SLLD provided a highly professional service including a large dash of creativity.
