“I have no hesitation in recommending Ash Island Lofts and Extensions. They completed a double mansard and rear addition extension for us on time and on budget as well as to a very high standard. We chose them because they were professional and knowledgeable from the start and promised to complete our works in 8 weeks when most other companies we saw were vague about the time or told us it would take 16 weeks. We found Ash Island to be very reliable at dealing with any little issues along the way, including slight changes – everything was handled fast and actioned immediately. The actual building team were just incredible, they worked so hard and nothing phased them – including carrying my very heavy soundproofing boards up to the 3rd floor. All in all I found Ash Island to be honest, responsive, caring and professional. “The non-standard specification and demanding quality requirements were met. This was my first loft conversion by CLL being a copy of a loft next door that another builder constructed for me a year ago. The scope of this hip-to-gable dormer loft conversion encompassed assistance with drawings, replacement of the boiler and consumer unit, then cupboard building and decorating. Requirements were quite comprehensive, and whilst relatively straightforward were sometimes non-standard. Further, I was on-site throughout monitoring work first-hand. Neither my requirements nor my presence were a threat to CLL...we worked together well resolving the inevitable technical issues calmly and effectively. The main builder, Vlad, provided continuity from start to finish carrying out a large part of the work personally (e.g. roofing, steel work, carpentry, window fitting, built-in furniture) supported when required by specialist tradesmen (e.g. plasterers, plumbers, electricians). His approach was nothing less than excellent, being experienced, objective, trustworthy and willing to push for things to be right. And what a pleasant guy with time for some humour. Barry and other management were also straightforward and pleasant to deal with throughout the work. So, quality was good, timescales were underestimated a little (but this never lead to corners being cut), and it was on budget. Could the odd thing have gone smoother...yes of course. Am I pleased with the result...absolutely...in fact we all took a few photos along the way!”
