“Gary and his team have done a fantastic job for us on our project completing 4 bathrooms. They have excellent knowledge and the work was completed to an excellent standard and to the timescales that we specified. They were also great at giving design ideas when our own imagination fell short. Highly recommended”

“Architecture Unknown had the vision to guide us through a full conversion of a grade II listed building. The result is an inspirational combination of traditional Georgian features in the listed front part of the house with a modern light filled kitchen extension at the back involving a bespoke glass roof and window seat. The back elevation is a particularly impressive mix of traditional brick with modern glass and anthracite. The project was immense including full loft and cellar conversions, AU held our hands through complex relations with a myriad of professionals including party wall surveyors, conservation officers and building contractors. Much of the construction phase took place during the COVID pandemic which added an additional layer of complexity. AU were flexible and agile in an ever-changing situation and ensured safe working at all times. Their presence was calm, reassuring and professional. We would not hesitate to recommend them.”

“We undertook a massive extension and renovation project of a 1911 arts and crafts house. We were keen to incorporate eco-design elements and we were referred to Chris Rogers and GTA by our environmental consultant. From our first meeting to completion of the project Chris went above and beyond. Always coming up with good ideas that fitted our specifications. Always quick to suggest sensible solutions to problems as they arose. Always available and an invaluable point of contact between us and the contractors on site. He took us through design and planning permission, tendering, refining the scope of the works and finalising the contract with the main contractor, the build itself, snagging...everything! Our build was between July 2016 and April 2017 and I don't think we would have managed it without Chris on the team. We have no hesitation at all in recommending Chris for projects big and small (and in fact have already recommended him to friends embarking on their own projects).”

“We wanted a split level extension to our house, to be built on sloping ground. we had drawn a rough idea on the back of an envelope and John turned that into a fully formed official plan. We would fully recommend John to anyone. He was extremely helpful and explained things very clearly so that we understood the process. He turned up when he said he would, and submitted all documents on time. When we asked for a change to a plan he complied fully. We found ourselves a builder who followed his plans to the letter. Our work is now completed and we are absolutely delighted with it.”

“Gavin has been beyond helpful with our house especially as my son is disabled and the house needed to be fully accessible for him. Gavin had the best ideas and we love our new house. Highly recommend him.”

“We couldn't recommend Scott highly enough for any client looking to create a project with the highest levels of creativity, innovation and finish. Scott is fun and exciting to work with but professional from start to finish with an astonishing eye for detail. When we receive work from Scott we know that we will be working on a project born from passion and the desire to do something unique and uncompromised in both concept and delivery. We also know a lot of the hard work will have been done for us as the proportions, sociability and use of the living spaces has been considered and executed to an exemplary standard. Scott’s genuine passion for what he does shines through in every aspect of the project and clients are invigorated and inspired by the drive and commitment he brings every step of the way.”

“When we moved into our" tired" 1920s cottage we could see it had potential, needed updating and the current layout didn`t flow however we really didn`t know where to start. James had done an excellent job for me designing an extension on a previous property( Wychwood Cottage, Oakhill) so without hesitation we knew he was the right person to help us with this project too. He listened to what we wanted from our home and on visiting immediately saw the solutions. He split the work into 3 phases and advised us of the order to do. As we are living in the property this provided the benefit of concentrating on one area at time, thereby allowing better control of our budget and securing the finish of one phase before moving one to the next and enabling a break between phases to restore our sanity rather than having to live on a building site for months on end and the risk of going over budget and unable to complete any areas. The first 2 phases were reconfiguring the current cottage to make full use of the space available. The 3 rd phase is an optional extra : the addition of an orangery which would increase space and enhance the current cottage and wonderful views it affords. We have now completed phase 1 which has most definitely provided the Cottage with the "Wow " factor achieved by knocking the existing back room and kitchen into a light airy kitchen/ diner with a working area flexible dining area and retaining the log burner and chilling out area with sofas. Altering the position of the door to the previously messy utility room has enabled a shower room with toilet to be put in whilst till retaining laundry facility, storage and space for the dogs. A stable door through optimises light and views but provides the option that any mess can be hidden if necessary! It really is a lovely space and so flexible now - all our visitors are amazed at the difference and love the light and airy homely feel. W are about to embark on phase 2 which involves swapping a bedroom and family bathroom. The bathroom will then be above the utility room which also houses the boiler with the outcome of a larger 3rd bedroom and all the unsightly pipework at the back of the house will disappear as all water and waste will be on one side of the building. Thank you James your are a true inspiration!”
