Milton Architects
Eco Homes in Marlborough, Wiltshire
Average rating: 5 out of 5 stars22 September 2015
“We employed Milton Architects to help us with a major (for us) project in transforming our rather quirky 1911 house. The project took c10 months and we made it more difficult for the architects and contractors by choosing to live in different corners of the house while work carried on around us. We are delighted with the end result. Mike Milton brought many innovative elements to the overall design and equal emphasis was placed on the practical considerations such as construction, plumbing, electrics and sourcing. The project incorporated constructional changes, renovations and improvements, two new extensions and a few demolitions. MA handled the project management very well, first through Mike and then his colleague Ros Leverett. The project - having allowed for the constraints and problems encountered along the way (asbestos, rotten timbers, crumbling foundations ...) was very close to the original budget and timescale, and the interactions with the construction company exemplary. So in conclusion we are very pleased to recommend Milton Architects highly and unreservedly for any project remotely similar to our own.”

“We have collaborated with Kate many times over the years and several of our clients have had recommendations from her. She demonstrates a high level of expertise and professionalism, creating designs with her interior head on, so you know she has thought about the whole package, inside and out. We would like to thank Kate for the many recommendations and we look forward to working with her more in the future.”
OB Architecture

“I have instructed OB Architecture on three major projects and can thoroughly recommend them for their design skills and client interface. One was a luxury 5,000 sf house in Henley on Thames whose design has exceed all expectations. The second a block of 9 apartments and ground floor commercial in London SE1 and the third a 9 acre site in West Berkshire upon which I hope to secure permission for a country house. The latter is ongoing The house and London project were completed satisfactorily in no small measure to Olly Bray and colleagues' skill and dedication. The practice which is young, brings a fresh and new outlook. All great stuff”

Fabric First Build Projects Ltd

Average rating: 5 out of 5 stars26 October 2018
“We had a complex build on a difficult site that was too demanding for a single contractor on this scale. There were two different buildings requiring materials and expertise from diverse providers and coordination of numerous contractors. David Gordon from Fabric First found and selected specialist providers and project managed the build overcoming problems promptly and with impressive initiative. He worked harmoniously with the architect and communicated effectively with neighbours to minimise disruption. He delivered the project on time and on budget. His honesty, judgement and integrity were impeccable and it was always a pleasure to deal with him. I recommend Fabric First very strongly.”
HOME ARCHITECTURE

“We decided to award Home Architecture the design contract for a large rear extension we had planned for our 1930s house. The designed drawing by Mike had some design options that at the time we had not considered. With this open advice and forward thinking vision we approved modification for the final drawing sign off. Its now some eight years since we had the extension done and still very much appreciated the input we had from the architects. The rear extension in brief consisted of a approx 6m x 4m single story extension, with tiled roof , velux windows and Bi-fold doors across the rear to open up onto hard wood decking. I would recommend Home Architecture if you are considering building works small or large.”

“We have no hesitation in recommending Jonny. Having lived in our present house for 39 years we felt the time was right to downsize, but where to? Answer the back garden! Having only owned 2 houses in 40 years of marriage we had no idea about how you go about designing and building a new house all we knew was that we wanted a bespoke modern house complete change to our present house which was built in 1915. Jonny and the team helped with every aspect design, liaising with local planning officers ,guiding us through an appeal when the local council (not the planning officer)rejected our plans and liaising with the builder. They visited the sight regularly and we had monthly meetings with them and the builder. Jonny checked all the finances thus taking the pressure and stress off us. We are delighted with our new house as hopefully they are. ””
