We are delighted with the highly skilled and painstaking decorating of our listed cottage, which required expertise in working with an old building and knowledge of specialist paints and subtle colour schemes. We were also impressed with a variety of woodwork skills and renovation of doors that has transformed the interior and preserved the exterior. Excellent job.

Matthew decorated my entire one bedroom flat at the Barbican. The process was easy, from contacting Welsh Heritage Decor for an initial quote, to agreeing finishing touches. There was good communication and any queries were sorted out quickly. The decorating was completed to a very high standard. There was good attention to detail. We had been agonising about our 30-year-old solid oak kitchen, although of sound structure needed a facelift/transformation to lighten the galley type kitchen. Would we have a new kitchen or could we refurbish. Our painting skills were OK but we have seen some ‘botched’ jobs! We looked and found professional painter extraordinaire. Interestingly at the start of our discussions we just thought Matthew would come along and paint at the Kitchen, however, elements such as doors, drawer fronts and architrave we removed taken to his workshop for spray painting which produces such an excellent finish. We have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone needing a high professional finish.

Amazing work. So pleased with my kitchen . Matthew has converted a tired and dated oak kitchen into a lovely bright pleasant work area at the fraction of a cost of replacing the old cabinets. We contacted Matthew Evans to request a quotation to paint the hand made kitchen units that were installed by the previous owners in 1997. The original wood was Maple and we choose a white colour to contrast the Amtico floor that had been laid. Matthew was meticulous at his work, got on with his work quietly. There was no mess whatsoever as the equipment he used was modern and the machine for sanding back the wood was of a "Hoover" type that sucked in the dust as he was sanding it. The units that he could not remove were painted with no mess whatsoever . The doors etc were taken back to his workshop and returned painted to a very high standard. We are absolutely delighted with the quality of his work, a true craftsman. We will be utilising the services of Matthew in the New Year to paint the hall, strairs and landing. An absolute delight to have had such a pleasant gentleman refurbishing our kitchen and clearly he has pride in his work. Highly recommended.

Mathew completed the repaint of our kitchen in September 2016. He was professional, helpful and meticulous and work was completed on time, to budget and with minimum disruption. The transformation from a tired oak kitchen to a cream painted kitchen is simply lovely and i am pleased with the result. As promised Mathew returned two weeks later to deal with any snagging issues, which were minimal and left with assurance that if there were any issues in future we simply had to advise and he would deal with. I have no hesitation in recommending Mathew at Welsh Heritage , he fully deserves a 5 star rating.

We had our kitchen re-painted by Welsh Heritage Decor in February 2016. Mathews overall standard of finish is absolutely first class, and he attains this with meticulous preperation. He sanded and prepared carefully all of our kitchen unit carcasses for painting and then removed all of the doors which he then took to his workshop for re-finishing. Once the doors were re-fitted by him the kitchen was totally transformed and looks brand new again, his standard of paint finish is absolutely fantastic. Matthew repainted our solid wood kitchen cupboard doors in March 2016 and we were extremely pleased with his work. It's like having a brand-new kitchen without all the hassle of replacing cabinets. The paint finish is superb, clearly done by a professional. Matthew took away all the removable doors and painted them in his workshop, then came to our house over 5 days to paint the remaining parts. He was always punctual, very quiet, tidy and meticulous. We were particularly impressed by the lack of mess and dust which we had expected, seeing as the woodwork had to be sanded down first. We were also impressed by Matthew's flexibility in that we asked him to do a few additional bits of work, e.g. sanding down kitchen stools for us, and he kept to his original quoted fee. He returned as promised two weeks later to check on the job and do one or two additional finishing touches. We would definitely recommend Matthew for this kind of work.
