“Troughton Residential completed a middling renovation (new windows throughout, new flooring, new kitchen, new roof, new boiler, underfloor heating) for me which was scheduled to take 6 weeks but became delayed by Covid restrictions and lockdowns. Nevertheless they persisted: ordering equipment and materiels early in anticipation of delivery problems; chasing manufacturers; working within the rules to finish the job. Christian and Marcin are easy to work with. The estimates are accurate and any changes or alterations are agreed beforehand. I felt confident in their work, which is of a high standard. They are now working on my son's property (on my recommendation).”

“Very pleased with Il Restauros beautiful cleaning, conservation and restoration of our badly damaged Victorian oil painting and flaked gilded wood and plaster frame. Rosaria Trivellini’s background, training, portfolio demonstrating her skills, professional and client references confirmed she had the necessary expertise to complete our delicate task. Before commencing work, Rosaria carefully examined our painting and its frame and reported on its overall condition. We learned a lot about our painting, the painter and the techniques he used. She then proposed different treatment options with explanations of the result of each and their varying costs. This enabled us to decide on a course of conservation that would best preserve the painting and suit our budget and plans. Rosaria kept us updated on progress throughout which was very exciting. We are delighted with the finished result which is beyond our expectations. The preserved painting can now be enjoyed by future generations. Throughout the process we found Rosaria very knowledgeable about art history, historical and modern artists' materials, their chemical structure and behaviour and the scientific methods available for examining, restoring and preserving objects of art. Working with Rosaria was a pleasure and we highly recommend her studio Il Restauro.”

“We used Guild AR Ltd to repoint the interior of an external wall in our warehouse conversion. The existing pointing had been done badly using cement where lime mortar should have been used. Several of the old bricks needed to be replaced and all the existing pointing had to be removed manually. It was a job we were dreading having done as it is messy and labour intensive. Guild AR did a first class job. They were straightforward and very efficient to deal with. They turned up when they said they would, cleared up after themselves and took pride in what they did. Their specialist knowledge was excellent. We would use them again.”
