Rutherford's Design

I highly recommend avoiding Rutherford's at all costs if you are looking for their design services. I had a handful of custom pillows made with them. The craftsmanship was well below what one would even consider "average" - exposed stitching, under-stuffed pillows, poorly stitched/joined trim. After items were re-done, they were STILL sub-par! I guess this is what you get for their overpriced services. It's not worth my time to bother with the staff again, as I don't trust them, and I am having my items completely re-done by someone else. I'm quite underwhelmed and unimpressed and will never walk into the shop again. If it was just one pillow or item, I would understand mistakes, but this occurred with multiple items and their lack of action to correct mistakes was very disappointing.

I highly recommend Rutherford's Designs and in particular designer Lee Ann Rutherford. Lee Ann and the other Rutherford's associates were immensely helpful in the remodel of the 1950's mid-century ranch home we recently purchased. They listened carefully to our vision for the home, were flexible, providing numerous options while respecting our budget, understood and worked with our desire to blend some of our traditional pieces into a more transitional look, and went above and beyond in working efficiently in a timely manner to stay on our timeframe to have the house completed in time for a large event we were hosting at our new home. We ended up with a nice combination of reworked original pieces- many of whig we reupholstered from the incredible selection of fabrics in their store as well as beautiful accessories. Lee Ann was always gracious and fun, I never had to worry about telling her if I didn't like something she proposed- she made me feel special and it was clear her only goal was that I would love my home when we were finished. The store is filled with an enormous number of fabric choicesI couldn't recommend her and Rutherford's more highly.
