I am very grateful to Bowley Builders not only for the on-time, on-budget completion of two major projects, but also for the prompt and knowledgeable response to any and every issue—from generators to flying squirrels—that comes up over the course of home ownership in coastal Maine. The bathroom project—a full renovation of one bath and the tricky addition of a new bath on the third floor—we threw at Bowley only weeks before we wanted to start. But somehow they fit us in the schedule and started and completed the project on time. With the extensive kitchen/laundry remodel, they devoted time and resources to help us plan and prepare, even going so far as to store a refrigerator we wanted for 6 months, and that project also started when we wanted and finished on time. I was living in the house during the bathroom project and seeing how respectful and capable the Bowley employees and the subcontractors were gave me confidence to leave the house in Bowley’s care during the kitchen remodel. Bowley sets high standards for both workmanship and conduct and their employees and subcontractors conform to these standards. The fact that two major projects were completed on budget (even slightly under!) was a welcome surprise. The estimate given before the work started was well-done and thorough. The monthly bills came on time and were very detailed so it was easy to keep track of spending. We are just thrilled with the quality workmanship, the skillful and communicative team, the forthright accounting, and the dependability of Bowley Builders.

The Bowley team has and continues to be great with communication. Working in conjunction with them on sensitive timelines makes this process much easier for all. In all the years I have worked with this company, their clients are always ecstatic with the results of their fine workmanship.

This was the second home that Bowley Builders built for us, one 15 years ago and another smaller one this past summer. We were impressed with their attention to detail and concern to "get it right". All the subcontractors from electrical, plumbing, architect, landscape architect, HVAC, painting, etc. were top notch, respectful, and easy to work with. They kept the work site totally clean and neat at all times, putting away their tools and materials at the end of each work day. We were especially impressed with one of the cabinet makers, Derek Prebble, who did an outstanding job of crafting built-ins in our study and living room. I met Geoff 5+ years ago when he was referred by our real estate agent. We were looking to purchase a home at Goose Rocks Beach that was in need of a total rehab and we wanted to get an experience builder’s input on structure and a ballpark on the costs involved prior to purchasing the home. We felt comfortable buying the house, in large part because of Geoff’s input. Since then, we have worked with Geoff on the total house rehab, an addition and the rehab of a shed into living space. Geoff builds a high quality home. He is communicative, very organized and broke the construction decisions down in to manageable parts and a timeline. He is practical and while listening to a client’s ideas is also very good at being cost conscience. I am in interior design but do not hesitate to seek Geoff’s input on design and style. He manages his sub contractors closely and has mature and respectful people that work for him. Projects come in "on time" and on budget...highly unusual in his business. Bowley Builders & Geoff Bowley are fabulous. We have done a number of renovation projects and have never had one as perfect as this. The project was completed on time, on budget, with total attention to detail. We walked in and Geoff handed us a punch list with 3 items on it, a week later there were none and we never had to add one ourselves. Creatively and organizationally they are wonderful. The subs they brought it were great, they all love working with Bowley. Bravo Geoff!!

We purchased a summer home in Kennebunk, Maine four years ago. Bowley Builders were the original builders of our home, it was only natural for us to interview them for the homes complete renovation that was to take place. Bowley Builders have a skilled team in place, well organized, on time for meetings, respectful of the home owner at all times, if they do not know the answer to a homeowners question/s they will go to great length to find the answers. They are very conscientious of the final product that they deliver. If for instance something is not right, they are there to correct it with no questions asked. As I stated we are a summer residence, Kennebunk, Maine is located in the Northeast, and we have had two severe winters, upon our request they come after a storm, check the house and shovel off two decks keeping them clear throughout the winter. I call that above and beyond great service to a client.. I highly recommend them to be a part of houzz, as they are 100% professional and reliable. We could not be happier with the outcome of our beautiful home.

"Bowley built" means something in Maine. Its a second generation business of building (you could say overbuilding) residential excellance. Geoff leads the firm with the attention to quality his dad did, and he has adapted to work with clients outside Maine as the business has grown, so he can use modern modes of doing business while retaining an old fashioned commitment to quality. We are a jersey couple and did the whole project largely remotely. One of the best vendors i have had the pleasure of doing work with. NO complaints, only positives, a decision to build with Bowley will never be regretted.

We are a high-end interior design company in New York City, and recently completed an ambitious beach house in Kennebunkport with Bowley Builders. Geoff Bowley and his entire team were an extremely well organized group who executed the job perfectly, and within a very unforgiving time frame. The details were unique and required a lot of advanced preparation and planning for, and Bowley was always proactive in making sure they came out immaculately. He is great at translating a vision into reality, and was always careful to communicate clearly, and he is very personable and articulate and was a pleasure to work with at every phase.
