Elliot was ready to pick up our project which several other architects would not do due to its unconventional nature and complexity. He did a good job with the required drawings, both for planning and building control, working through with our requirements and delivered promptly. Very satisfied with the experience.

Sarah gave us invaluable direction, advice and ideas on the refurbishment of our house to make better use of living space and add that ‘wow’ factor we were missing. She has transformed our house into a much brighter and modern environment injecting elements of colour with accessories and enhancing my own preference of neutral backdrops with use of warmer tones to complement. Sarah suggested completely switching the kitchen/diner round and raising the ceiling, also installing skylights and a large picture window in front of which we now have our table so meals can be had overlooking the garden and a total transformation with the additional daylight coming in. To add to this she suggested removing the wall between kitchen and living room and install floor to ceiling folding glass doors separating the two that can be pushed back with ease for a completely open plan feel. Sarah recommended paint colours, the layout of the kitchen, flooring and accessories of colours that linked the rooms together. She was always on hand for as much or little input that we wanted. Even with accessories and lighting Sarah presented ideas and recommendations that I would not have explored left to my own devices. I am so glad that we have put many of these into place. Our front room also had an uplift with the layout of furniture, injection of colour and modern lighting. Upstairs Sarah recommended taking a bit from two bedrooms to form an en-suite to the main bedroom with the ingenious addition of a light tunnel which makes it bright and airy. Wardrobes were custom built and low level bedroom furnishings sourced resulting in a very luxe result. Sarah always presented options across a range of costings so that we could consider perhaps paying a little more on one part of the project if we wished and a little less on another. I loved Sarah’s flexible approach in that she would have led as much or little as we wanted and with her enthusiastic and bubbly nature it was always great to get together and review progress, next steps etc.

I approached Leigh initially for advice and inspiration for a dull and gloomy hallway. She quickly made suggestions for some beautiful console tables, statement mirror and amazing copper lighting. The copper lighting really lifted the whole area and showed off my attic flooring to its best. I was so impressed I asked her to redesign an ensuite bathroom for the guest bedroom. It is now modern, practical and stylish. Some really interesting and different thing that I would never have thought of by myself. The work was completed quickly and to a high standard with no mess or convenience to us. Top class job and looking forward to commissioning another new bathroom soon.

I hired Katie Malik for the re-design, renovation and furnishing of a one bedroom, split-level flat in a historic building in the Kite area, close to the centre of Cambridge. The building had originally been converted in the 1980s and the flat was out-dated in its design and far too dark. Katie transformed it into a beautiful, bright, modern space that can be used efficiently and is interesting to be in. The removal of the walls that boxed in and enclosed a small kitchen and the installation of a breakfast bar turned the eating area into a beautifully lit, warm and welcoming, feature of the flat (see photo). It was a pleasure working with Katie. She was very efficient and fast at getting the work done, and the project finished on schedule. She worked well with her contractors, who were first rate, but she never hesitate to ask them to re-do anything that wasn’t up to her high standards. She was able to coordinate inexpensive furniture and décor items with dearer ones, to respect the overall budget. We were able to share ideas and work well as a team. I would definitely employ her again and recommend her without hesitation.

Alicia helped me redesign my leaving room and it was amazing! She truly understood the emotions I wanted to achieve with the new interior and made my leaving room my perfect space! Working with Alicia was fantastic, she was creative and quickly put my random ideas into a cohesive plan. She simply understood me and my house :-)

Alicia once learning about the client's style and preferences has an extraordinary skill to transform it into a perfectly matched interior so one feels in "her/his dreamed space". The effect overcomes the expectations. She "sees" colours, patterns, shapes and how well they would match far before applying them, that I guess it is much thanks to her painting skills. She inspires those not certained of their own preferences. If they brave enough to trust her taste (as I was) she certainly positively surprise them with the result, so they then have no doubt why they hired her at first place! Her "fresh" ideas, ideally selected colours, comparing it "before" and "after" make great difference to the final user. I decided to hire Alicia despite of living in different country and being surrounded by other interior designers nearby, as Alicia has that rare skill to be able to reflect the uniqueness of one's style in the design project so one feels "like home" in a interior designed by her. To me the project she did for me has "that something, has a soul" and that is why i hired Alicia and would hire her again.

Having worked with SKK in the past on various projects for Ralph Lauren, Warner Music and Superdry, we employed them to undertake the design of a new urban gym in Canary Wharf. The brief was to create a fitness environment different to anything seen in the UK while suiting the new site and potential client base. As usual, SKK excelled in all areas. The client was impressed with the SKK team from start to finish and has a design that will work for this space and their future roll outs.

We have an Edwardian semi, which we wanted to modernise and extend in a much more contemporary style, improving the layout and flow to maximise space and light. Our emphasis was on accessibility and preparing for our later years while keeping such adaptations unobvious and not compromising any other design aspects or quality. We chose CDC because of the way in which Delphine’s proposal paid very close attention to, and responded to, the detail of our brief. She then came up with a series of alternative schemes; there was one clear winner. Moving the staircase unlocked all of the possibilities. We also hired CDC to project-manage the contract, which Delphine did very skilfully, navigating that sometimes tricky relationship between client and builder. She paid attention to detail and was scrupulously fair in all her arbitration decisions, signing off progress payments, holding the builder to time and budget commitments, and finding ways to solve the problems which inevitably arise. She was also a great help when it came down the massive number of choices we had to make, such as steering us towards good colour schemes, lighting, sanitary and fittings choices, and in helping us see past the sometimes daunting aspects of the building work, constantly and confidently reassuring us how great it would be! She was right – it is great! Eight months after moving back into our house, it still delights us every single day. CDC transformed a rather dark, boring Edwardian house with a very poor layout into something light and airy. In retrospect, there is very little we would change, and we would unhesitatingly recommend CDC for any similar project.
