I hired Higginson Stairs to install a staircase, expecting a high standard of craftsmanship and professionalism. Unfortunately, the final result was disappointing, with several quality issues, including: - Wood Imperfections – Noticeable defects and marks across all three floors. - Paint Scratches – Despite following their team’s recommendation to pre-paint the grooves, their installers cut through the painted areas, leaving visible scratches. - Incomplete Fitting – Several sections had misaligned wood pieces, gaps, and poorly fitted elements holding the glass in place. - Glue Residue – Residue left on the glass panels across all floors that could not be removed with standard cleaning. I raised these concerns and requested a fair discount to cover the necessary repairs that my builder will need to make, but Higginson Stairs refused to communicate any further with myself. Rather than addressing the issues, they escalated the final balance to law enforcement for collection, despite the staircase not meeting the expected quality standards. Given my experience, I cannot recommend this company to anyone seeking high-quality workmanship or reliable customer service.

Higginson Staircases has done a great job for me in designing and installing a bespoke staircase to provide a safe and convenient access to my loft storage space in a purpose built Edwardian maisonette. Peter has been most thorough and committed in his dealing with me, addressing all my requirements and concern with utmost professionalism and skill. And he is ably supported by his team in the office and the manufacturing and installation. Thank you all at Higginsons.
