In another commissioned work for me, Mark explored heraldic forms, meanings and colours to create a striking painting of a vintage bicycle. “Mural by Clarissa Parish I have planned my new Orangery for 20 years, the base went down in 2007 and I knew exactly what I wanted but never thought about a mural until I understood that Clarissa had moved into the village. What she painted was beyond my wildest dreams. I said that I wanted a sub tropical forest along the whole of the back wall – she produced two or three designs, we agreed and she started to paint. It was as if she was doing it in a trance – there seemed to be no effort and what appeared happened very quickly and very beautifully. As we moved along, I made some suggestions – how about a gorilla, a kingfisher overlooking my fish tank – each time they were painted life size and in perfect detail. I think she is probably in Harry Potter as she is a magician! Everyone who comes to the Orangery marvels at the beauty of what she has created. Most certainly recommend her services.
