“Recently, my wife and I decided to do a small remodeling job in our kitchen. A few years earlier, we had removed a microwave oven, which was located above a counter top stove, and had a Jenn-Aire canopy range hood installed. On each side of the duct, we had a material applied to the wall and the same material was applied to the wall under the hood down to the top of the tile back splash. We were never completely satisfied with look of this job. I decided to start a search for a more attractive material which could be used to replace the material used with the installation of the range hood. I also decided to use a material which I could purchase in different thicknesses. My plan was to use a thin version of this material on the walls on each side of the duct and to remove the tile back splash under the hood and use this same material on the wall down to the granite counter top. I would also remove the granite on the top of the island counter in the kitchen and use a thicker version of the same material to create a new top. At this point, I visited the Eagle Stones store which is located north of Sarasota, Florida. The store personnel showed me samples of material which I could purchase in the desired thicknesses. I made a selection and scheduled an appointment to have a an estimate performed. A representative came to my home and measured the areas involved in the project and later sent me an estimate. After I agreed to have the work done, another representative came to my home and made more measurements and also made some very good suggestions about the project. I set a date for the installation of the selected material. When the installers arrived on the appointed date, I showed them the area and explained what needed to be done. A little over two hours later the job was done. When I was a child, I learned that only a higher power was perfect, but I will have to admit that the installation was almost perfect. Since we were dealing with four pieces of quartz which had to be cut to fit in measured areas, I expected some "gaps" where the material butted up against the cabinets and the back splash on each side of the cut out area. There were a couple of these gaps; however, they disappeared after the grout dried. I am very pleased with the finished project and I am more than pleased with Eagle Stones. “Mark and company removed the existing tile in master and guest baths. They have been in business for over 25 years. They were very neat, clean and little dust was made. The new tile work was, in my opinion, supurb. They used dens-shield, waterproofed and applied mud to plumb walls. The application of the tiles was excellent because they were using marble and minimal joints made. At the end of the job Mark cleaned up the garage, even washing the floor.
