We have just received planning permission for our internal reconfiguration which Simon has designed for us. He visited us on several occasions and helped us to see the potential in our property exploring all the options available. Together we talked through how we want to use the house and we have used every pocket of space to reach that potential. Simon has been friendly and accommodating throughout and he has kept in touch regularly. He talked us through the planning process and kept us updated whilst successfully securing planning permission. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Simon, he is a highly skilled architect and we thoroughly enjoyed working with him. Many thanks Simon!

I am so pleased I asked Julie-Ann to design the refurbishment of my house. From the Dormer extension for the master bedroom suite, to redesigning the kitchen and dining room to make one big open plan room, to the ground floor shower room and utility and even redesigning the patio area, Julie-Ann and her team have through their knowledge, experience and attention to the smallest detail, given me a beautiful home. Julie-Ann and her team are lovely, nothing is ever too much trouble. If you want an Architect who will design you something really special then In Ex Design is that company. We couldn’t be more pleased with our new holiday home. Michael , Harry and their team worked wonders within the tight planning constraints to design and deliver a house that sits beautifully within it’s context whilst providing us something rather special. They are also very personable , helpful and easy to deal with .

We engaged van Ellen & Sheryn in 2013 to assist with the design of and planning for a new build house in Totnes, Devon which my family and I now very happily live in. We worked mostly with Eilir Sheryn who showed enthusiasm, skill and experience in helping us navigate our way through the project. In particular he was willing and able to follow our brief in respect of design and budget which, in our experience, not every architect will do. All of the staff at the firm are personable and professional and we would not hesitate to recommend them ( we have on two occasions ) and we are in fact currently discussing a new project with Eilir. Upon completion our house was featured in Homebuilding & Renovating magazine and will also appear the TV series " Building the Dream " sometime in 2016..........testament to a job well done. We instructed Woodford Architecture to assist us in prolonged negotiations with a local developer who had obtained detailed planning consent to convert an office building in the historic centre of Exeter into three floors of appartments with two added penthouses on a new contemporary steel and glass fourth floor. After weeks of discussion we managed to convince the developer to sell us the entire new floor as one large new appartment fitted out entirely to our specification. This entailed some re design of the new structure on a project which was about to start The deal was entirely dependant on Woodford Architecture producing detailed design plans and specifications to very tight deadlines indeed, in the face of a somewhat sceptical contractor. There is no doubt whatsoever that had not Gavin Woodford and his staff worked seven days a week for several weeks we would not have been able to meet our contractual commitments. They are to be congratulated on a remarkable job well done.

I have worked with Andrew for a number of years now; firstly working for a major housebuilder and latterly my own development company building smaller, bespoke schemes. In either circumstance, Andrew is able to hone is years of experience to create a large scale scheme that maximises square footage and maximum revenue for the developer or create something with individuality, but in keeping with the vernacular of the area. His attention to detail is second to none and his town planning qualifications allow him to work closely alongside the Local Authority ensuring the best scheme for his client. I hope to carry on working alongside Andrew for many years to come and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him for any form of residential development.

BARC did an excellent job of interpreting my ideas and thoughts along with their own ideas to produce a plan incorporating the right look and amount of space for a pair of semi-detached houses despite a long struggle with the planning department and many compromises.

We renovated an old smallholding cottage in Cornwall last year. The property is 1800's granite construction, and has small north facing windows to the front. At the rear of the property we replaced an old flat roof timber sunroom, and needed to find a solution to replacing it while maximising the light into the interior of the house. The space between the top of the ground floor windows and the 1st floor windowsills was very limited, so it was a challenge to find a solution that worked well. We opted for a orangery style roof lantern. The David Salisbury designed everything for us, as the engineering was quite tricky due to the construction of the original building and the limited space available. The project went without a hitch, everything was designed and delivered according to schedule, and fitted very professionally. Everyone who visits the house comments on the kitchen roof lantern, and we get lots of appreaciation for the wooden construction, it really complements the house.

Our restoration project evolved into a very special experience for all the team involved. Kirsty Curnow Bailey was recommended to us by a local buildings surveyor and we arranged an initial 2 hour meeting. The 'cost' to us was a donation to Kirsty's favourite charity. We gelled almost immediately and the journey began. We were involved at every part of the design stage and our ideas were blended with Kirsty's practicality and imagination. She lead the negotiations with the National Park planners and the conservation officer with great professionalism. She introduced us to two building companies and we were pleased to award the job to RM Builders in Tavistock. I year later the works began. The restoration took 16 months and involved a complete reroofing , new external lime render, major lath and plaster internal restoration and a full replumb and rewire. Kirsty was ever-present and chaired site meetings every 2 weeks. The budget was observed closely and contingency added at 2 different stages. Underground drainage works were a major additional cost and could not have been fully predicted at the outset. The build quality was exactly as requested and Kirsty was adamant that the planned standards were fully met. Discoveries on the way included a 1500 carved granite fireplace in the main room, finding a 3rd staircase inside a 5 foot rubble wall and opening up the blocked cross passage in the centre of the house. The oldest timbers exposed during the works date back to the 1300's! Kirsty was pivotal in returning our home to its current condition, blending very old with contemporary and very modern. We are delighted with the result and we would recommend Living Space Architects to any prospective clients. Everything now works 100%, the building breathes again and will be on track for the next 100yrs for sure. Thanks Kirsty Geoff and Sue
