I am so pleased I asked Julie-Ann to design the refurbishment of my house. From the Dormer extension for the master bedroom suite, to redesigning the kitchen and dining room to make one big open plan room, to the ground floor shower room and utility and even redesigning the patio area, Julie-Ann and her team have through their knowledge, experience and attention to the smallest detail, given me a beautiful home. Julie-Ann and her team are lovely, nothing is ever too much trouble. If you want an Architect who will design you something really special then In Ex Design is that company. When I bought my house I decided to re-decorate but the scale of the project was slightly intimidating. I wanted a beautiful and personal design but there are so many ideas out there that I didn’t know where to start. I came across Sophie Louisa Interiors whilst searching the web for various designs. I hesitated for a while before contacting Sophie as I’d never worked with an interior designer before and wasn’t sure what to expect and whether I could even afford such services. I ended up contacting her anyway and I couldn’t have been happier about it now. Sophie was quick to respond and we made arrangements for an initial consultation. I’ve never looked back and kept calling upon Sophie’s vast experience and impeccable taste ever since. She is very professional, friendly, approachable and always opened to the new ideas. Even more importantly, she always listens to what I envisaged for my house but she also always give me her professional advice. Our project will be coming to an end in a few months’ time and I can already see that the final result will be stunning. I would recommend Sophie to my friends, colleagues and anyone who wants to transform their homes into something really special.

Long project with a number of phases in the renovation of a c5000 sq ft Georgian house with outbuildings: helped to create a lived-in feeling through the decoration, reclaimed flooring, other renovations; excellent attention to detail, responsive at all times, cooperated well with interior designer.

A friendly and professional practice - a pleasure to work with. Impressive timber frame design knowledge and excellent communication made this project an absolute joy - we hope to work with you again soon. So successful was this partnership that we've been jointly shortlisted for 'Best Oak Frame' at the Build It Awards 2014 - fingers crossed! Photo Credits: van Ellen + Sheryn

A really outstanding business. We used the team at Woodford to help us update an old Rectory we had purchased. Gavin developed the new design for our kitchen, en-suite master bedroom and two other bathrooms. He picked up very cleverly on existing design elements of the original Georgian rectory and incorporated these into a modern but appropriate twist for the new designs. We ended up following all Sarah's proposals for flooring, wall colours, kitchen & bathroom fixtures & fittings. She also developed beautiful ideas for curtains and roman-blinds and was able to recommend a great local company who provided the fabrication (and who did a really good job on this). In summary, their advice and professionalism was wide-ranging, great value-for-money and time-generous. Gavin & Sarah and the team at Woodford absolutely exceeded our expectations.

Our restoration project evolved into a very special experience for all the team involved. Kirsty Curnow Bailey was recommended to us by a local buildings surveyor and we arranged an initial 2 hour meeting. The 'cost' to us was a donation to Kirsty's favourite charity. We gelled almost immediately and the journey began. We were involved at every part of the design stage and our ideas were blended with Kirsty's practicality and imagination. She lead the negotiations with the National Park planners and the conservation officer with great professionalism. She introduced us to two building companies and we were pleased to award the job to RM Builders in Tavistock. I year later the works began. The restoration took 16 months and involved a complete reroofing , new external lime render, major lath and plaster internal restoration and a full replumb and rewire. Kirsty was ever-present and chaired site meetings every 2 weeks. The budget was observed closely and contingency added at 2 different stages. Underground drainage works were a major additional cost and could not have been fully predicted at the outset. The build quality was exactly as requested and Kirsty was adamant that the planned standards were fully met. Discoveries on the way included a 1500 carved granite fireplace in the main room, finding a 3rd staircase inside a 5 foot rubble wall and opening up the blocked cross passage in the centre of the house. The oldest timbers exposed during the works date back to the 1300's! Kirsty was pivotal in returning our home to its current condition, blending very old with contemporary and very modern. We are delighted with the result and we would recommend Living Space Architects to any prospective clients. Everything now works 100%, the building breathes again and will be on track for the next 100yrs for sure. Thanks Kirsty Geoff and Sue

Alasdair has advised, overseen and project-managed several projects in our 200 year old cottage over the last ten years. Insertion of half dormer window to match six other existing windows. Re-designing a jaded 1960s bathroom into a bathroom with a WOW factor. He is very creative in his use of space, knocking down walls and creating new doorways to improve the flow of the cottage. He pays great attention to detail and ensures that any alterations will be in keeping with the character of the house.

We've worked with Corbel for many years now, over numerous projects, and have established a sound working relationship. Conservation isn't often straight forward, and Corbel strongly promote open conversation with contractors and client teams/designers/architects, which usually leads to the most appropriate and sympathetic solution to the beautiful buildings that we work on together.

The team at Lewis Visuals were extremely friendly and helped us with every aspect of our project. They were very thorough with all details and designed us a completely unique design which we love, taking into consideration our surroundings and the neighbouring properties.
