We had 6 complete sash windows and 1 small casement installed in December 2019. The installation team arrived on time and were respectful both towards us and to our property. They kept us informed over the course of the works (approx 1 and a half weeks) and cleaned up each day to a reasonable standard. The finish on the windows is fantastic: the final hand coating of paint (by Steven) makes all the difference, and not many companies I had quote offered this. I had previously had 2 sash windows installed by another very large company (LSWC, green logo!) and these windows by Core win hands down - both on appearance, smoothness of operation, and the “making good” of surrounding plasterwork etc. A special shoutout to Steven for that.
We did have an issue with on one of the 7 windows we had installed - the architrave used was too large compared to the original and as installed was overlapping the rooms cornicing which spoiled the look of the room. There was a bit of back-and-forth with the company on the matter, necessitating some before and after photos to show the original appearance, but afterwards they did agree to return and fit a smaller architrave. In an ideal world this would have been picked up by them during the survey and the size of the windows/architrave optimised ahead of time, but credit to Core, they did return and put it right, so no hard feelings from me and they will be my #1 choice for next time given everything else was top-notch and the overall quality of finish on all 7 windows is now far superior to the competitor I used for 2 other windows previously.
I’ve had no cause for any warranty claims so cannot yet comment on their after sales service.

I really don't want to waste any more of my time on this company (and I'm not normally one to leave reviews) but I feel obliged to warn others after the unbelievably bad experience we've had with Core Sash Windows. We had them install 6 new sash windows as part of our house refurb and it was a total nightmare...
Despite confidently assuring us that they would make good and leave no trace, their installers didn't clear up after themselves, leaving rubble and dust on the floor for several days at a time, even when they were applying the top coat of paint (which any good painter will tell you is a cardinal sin!) - and leaving their empty drinks cans lying around. They managed to leave scrapes, scratches and dents on walls and woodwork throughout the house, and made such a bad job of touching up / fixing these issues that they had to come back several times and ended up having to repaint several walls in their entirety.
On one occasion I turned up to meet their Director at the house and he was hanging out of the window with a hoover, apparently cleaning the gutter. When I came in, I noticed that he had splattered dirty gutter water across half of the walls... cue another few rounds of touch ups...
The windows themselves seem pretty good (they are made by a supplier in Estonia I believe) but the final coat of paint was very messy and left drips running down walls, on the skirting boards, radiators etc., so again this was something they had to come back and fix over several visits.
Worst of all is that through all of these issues, their customer service was appalling and made the whole process extremely stressful. From not showing up to meetings, to simply being rude and trying to make excuses for things they were clearly at fault for, and now simply ignoring emails. We spent nearly £18k with them and the best they could do is offer us a £200 voucher because they have to protect their margins..!

We have had a terrible experience with Core Sash Windows: they haven't been able to meet the schedule we agreed when placing the order, after weeks we still haven't received the windows we ordered and they keep installing parts that are just temporary solutions. On top of this, no clear communication whatsoever and we are still struggling to get answers and solutions.
We strongly advise against using them!

Comment from Core Sash Windows:
Hi Alessandra, We understand your frustration and we are very sorry that our efforts to expedite the delivery of your new sashes to receive them in 4 weeks (rather than the standard 8 weeks at this time of year) was unsuccessful. Regrettably, despite the factory operating 2 shifts and working 24/7 in this the busiest time of year, the delivery was delayed which put us and you under time pressure. The delays stemmed from the production of the glass units, so I opted to have the finished sash frames delivered un-glazed and had an extra 10 double glazed units manufactured locally. These were fit in the sash frames so you would have natural light and we replaced them when the correct units were delivered. My thinking was that this option would enable us to fit the windows and finish all interior work by your move-in date of 23/07/18. Trying every available option to avoid an impact on you moving in, was, we felt the right choice when the alternative was to start work a week later on Friday 27/07/18 (by which time all windows had been installed). 1 top sash upstairs is waiting for a glazing unit to be swapped and 2 timber corner pieces to be fitted. Everything else was finished on 01/08/18. My communication in the beginning while I was in constant contact with the factory to find solutions, could have been faster while I was waiting for a confirmed (rather than giving you an estimated) delivery date, I hold my hands up that this should have been communicated to you quicker.

Ours is a typical London Victorian terraced house. After much research and a recommendation from neighbours, we chose Core to replace the windows in our lounge and three bedrooms, and draft proof and re-glaze the front door.
From the outset (the initial contact and site survey) it was clear that this was a company that prided itself on a first class product (their website is also very comprehensive) and the quality of its workmanship.
The quote was competitive and a start date was agreed. It was to take ten days.
At the end of the first week I emailed Core's management and included the following....
Just to say how impressed we are by your team - skilled, diligent, respectful, hardworking, conscientious, cheerful...
The superlatives are fully justified.
As the work progressed, it was obvious that the box of each window was being completely refurbished and, with the new windows installed, they would have been fully restored.
Neighbours began to notice and ask after the process.
On completion, we were assured that 'if any problems arise...' they would be remedied and we were provided with a written guarantee.
Put simply, the investment was very worthwhile, the quality of finish was of the highest standard and I can recommend Core to you without hesitation.

We used Core Sash Windows to replace our old, single glazed sash boxes with new double-glazed sash boxes. They replaced 15 windows and renovated the existing wood surrounds at the same time. We are delighted with the end result. The windows look fantastic, retaining the existing look and feel but with much better insulation. The team that fitted the windows were outstanding. They protected the floor and furniture and cleaned up after themselves every day. I would have no hesitation in recommending Core Sash Windows to others. An outstanding job all round.

My new windows are great, no more draughts and blessed quiet! All the team were great, from the surveyors to the wonderful quartet of Eastern European carpenters and painters who did the job. They were at all times courteous, polite and hard working - no blaring radios or swearing and they cleared up beautifully each day. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone contemplating having their sash windows replaced.

I cannot eulogise enough about how fantastic Core Sash Windows are.
Sean Macanbhaird and his team are consummate professionals and I wouldn’t hesitate at all recommending them to anyone looking to have their windows replaced.
From initial measurements to final fittings, I was well informed about the whole process and execution of works were carried out like a military operation. No messing about, absolute confidence in what they do, sharp and clean.
Core Sash Windows are about quality, value for money, integrity and customer care. What more do you need?

I had two french doors replaced. Right from the initial visit I felt Core was a company I could trust. They fitted all appointments around my work schedule, great communication throughout the project, the work done was immaculate and the house was spotless after. The finished doors are perfect, I would definitely use them again and recommend to anyone.

I could not be happier with the service I received from Core. I replaced all the sash windows in the front of my terraced house and right from the start they were impressive, coming back to check the measurements when there was a slight discrepancy. When the windows were installed, great care was taken to protect my home and everything was carefully covered and protected. They cleaned up after them every day and made sure I was happy with everything when they finally left. The icing on the cake was the follow up visit to check that the work was done to the high standards of this company. This is a high quality company in both the work they do and the service they provide and I would happily recommend them to anyone.

These guys are amazing - great windows, speedy and courteous service, cleaned up (for the most part) after themselves. The two things to know are that the windows lead time is a long time (good to know for those who aren't prepared) and that you still need to clean the house after the work as the dust gets everywhere. But we have now used CSW twice and would use them again without hesitating.

We needed our sash windows and exterior doors (back door and side room French doors)replaced. We live in a converted late Victorian / early Edwardian terrace.
Core Sash were incredibly prompt, professional, courteous and the quality of the products are second to nonie. They really are of the highest quality and finish.
Replacing the windows and doors was necessary. Expensive too, but you pay for what you get. Core Sash were very honest in their assessment. The boxes (frames) were still in good enough condition after 100 years not to have to be replaced too. That saved us a fair whack. The new windows and doors will last at least as long as the ones they replace but with better technology, security and care....
My new back door is a dream.
thoroughly recommended....

We are sorry that your experience could have been better.
You notified us that there were some marks upstairs on the newly painted walls of your home. We agreed that we had been responsible for leaving some of the marks during the installation of your Accoya double glazed windows. There was substantial ongoing works taking place throughout the house at this time with multiple trades on site. We suggested we would fully paint all of the walls upstairs so we could leave you with the best possible finish.
This was carried out to your satisfaction and we also gave you £200 in John Lewis vouchers for the inconvenience of having our painters for additional days on site.
After this you emailed to say that you wanted £1500 compensation before you wrote reviews about us on various sites. We have rectified the issues you brought to our attention. However, we are unable to provide you with any further payments.
We regret that we were unable to completely resolve your complaints but we do appreciate your business. We will of course, honour all guarantees and we will return if you have any issues with our windows in the future.
Yours sincerely, Sean Mac Anbhaird (Director, Core Sash Windows)
