I am sorry that you are unhappy with our service regarding your door lock. We initially installed your door for you on 6th October 2008. You had an issue with the finish of the door outer coating in 2015 and I believe that we did in fact change the whole door for you at this time under the terms of our guarantee. Unfortunately we are provided with a 1 year manufacturers guarantee on all locking mechanisms which we in turn pass on to the customer and is clearly stated in our guarantee which is located on your sale agreement. This was handed to you via our sales person at the point of sale in 2008.
Given that we did change your door completely in 2015 it is apparent that we do indeed uphold our guarantee for our customers. This is not something that we can decide if we should do just because it suits our client at the time, but something that we do every single time an issue arises and have done for 40 years.
I am sorry that you have had this issue with your locks but unfortunately moving parts like the lock do deteriorate over time and can fail as a result. We would be more than happy to replace this lock for you but it is 3 years past the guarantee cover and would as a result be chargeable.
