Front garden, Haslemere, Surrey
This newly cleared space, wrapped around by a driveway, was the perfect blank canvas for a new planting scheme. A pathway leads from the garden gate to the house. Plants soften the hard landscaping and the mix of shrubs, perennials, and specimen trees ensure a colourful scheme all year round. As the ground drops on the approach to the house, the choice of plants was crucial to provide flowering interest at eye level where the wall is at its highest, and low spreading plants flop over the wall to soften the edges. Curved Beech hedges create a structural framework within the lawn, and traditional paving materials (crazy paving & gravel) were chosen to tie in with the style of the house. Garden lights illuminate the path & its central focal point.
