Between 2006 to 2009 we worked intensively developing a series of Grade 2 listed warehouse penthouse flats in The Borough, London SE1. Part of those works included a roof terrace and new access stairs. The problem was how to enclose the staircase in a visually pleasing manner, one which could gain listed planning consent. The entrance enclosure is an excellent place to display sculpture. The trapdoor in the floor opens to reveal a store for the client's childrens' toys. Robert Steer/ Photoview
