The stone fireplace in the old living room was retained as sentimental, keeping this cosy room but connecting it with the open plan, through utilising the same floor throughout and using slide doors to open it up.

the project concerned the renovation of the L shape living room and kitchen. We created a dining room space in that opened kitchen and design all the kitchen cabinets and fronts to make it unique, practical and spacious at the same time

A seaside apartment with ocean views - this living/diner is painted a greige with dark teal feature shelves. We created a bespoke storage window seat which makes a feature of the view. We changed all internal doors and brass switches/sockets to give it more of a luxe feel.
The artworks and soft furnishings are all coastal and use a similar colour palette, giving the rooms cohesive flow. The large window mirror reflects the view of the beach.

This intimate corner setup is a masterclass in colour, texture, and curated simplicity. A deep emerald velvet armchair with brass-capped legs creates a rich focal point, perfectly paired with a soft geometric cushion for a playful accent. The slender black floor lamp arcs elegantly overhead, its gold-leaf interior casting a warm, luxurious glow. Beside it, a delicate black-painted nightstand adds vintage charm and balance, topped with books and a leafy houseplant that brings a touch of nature indoors. The tonal blue-grey wall paint provides a serene backdrop that enhances the mood of calm sophistication. This reading nook is not just functional but emotionally inviting—a space to pause and retreat within the home.

Angles of country contemporary living room. Functional for a family with lots of animals. Rich leather sofas balanced with country scheme wallpaper and paint for neutral calm balance.

A Victorian terrace with built in alcoves either side of the fireplace so to balance the space we added the same green to 'hug' around the sofa and make it feel warmer.

The refurbishment include on opening up and linking both the living room and the formal dining room to create a bigger room.

This is the first in a series of images and IGTV posts showing the transformation of our apartment renovation in Kensington, London. It is not often as an interior designer that you get to totally transform a home from top to bottom. This four-bed apartment situated in one of London’s most prestigious garden squares was a joy to work on.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I designed and project-managed the entire renovation. The 2,500sqft apartment was tired and needed a total transformation. My brief was to create a classic contemporary space.
The flat was stripped back to the bare bones; we removed the old flooring and installed full soundproofing throughout the apartment. I then laid a dark Wenge parquet flooring and kept the walls in a light off-white paint to keep the apartment light and airy.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I decided to retain the original mouldings on the walls and paint the areas (walls, moulding and covings) in the same colour.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This first image shows the Bolection-style fireplace with the dark slate contrast hearth and slips. I balanced the room by placing two dark wood sideboards and a dark round mirror above the fireplace as a punchy contract to the pale walls.

The project: A Victorian re-conversion (from 2 x 2 bedroom flats) back into a 5 bedroom family home
My role: Interior Architecture, spatial planning, design concepts, lighting design, product sourcing and specification, bespoke joinery design.

A quiet, poetic detail from this Bethnal Green home captures a warm and unexpected pairing of function and feeling. A classic acoustic guitar leans casually against the soft grey wall, its worn wood grain and gentle curves full of character and personal history. Beside it, a vintage-style column radiator painted in a buttery yellow hue introduces a joyful contrast and a sense of nostalgic elegance. The brass fittings add a final touch of refinement, quietly elevating the everyday. Together, these two elements evoke a sense of lived-in authenticity and personality—proof that even the simplest corners of a home can speak volumes about its atmosphere and soul.

Eva contacted me a while ago with a burning idea in her mind, perfect for a spring project to get stuck into. She’d decided it was high time for her basement living room to realise its full potential, as for too long, it has floundered as little more than functional space in which to watch TV. Like so many living spaces, it had become somewhere taken for granted, devoid of life, character and all the energy and great features that interior design can reveal.
1. IDEA: Interior Design for Energising Atmosphere in a home renovation
Right from the first consultation and all the way through to the final reveal, I was keen to make sure that every detail, every selected artwork, every use of colour and every accessory was meticulously chosen with one factor in mind: this space deserved to reflect Eva’s outgoing personality and creative lifestyle. Now complete, I’m as delighted with the result as she is. The transformation of what was an uninspiring basement living space into an elegant, vibrant room that was not only a functional environment in which to spend time, but a beautiful one capable of elevating everyday living.
