Living room
This is an example of a large farmhouse open plan living room in Melbourne with multi-coloured walls, dark hardwood flooring, a standard fireplace, a stacked stone fireplace surround, a wall mounted tv and brown floors.

The room was in need of storage and so we designed and installed a big blue bookcase to house the TV, and add storage as well as open shelving. This also served to cover a rather awkward shaped bookcase in the wall.

This apartment was located in a renovated cottage in Fowey. We retained some of the stonework where the rooms were light to nod to the original architecture. The existing flooring was retained to keep to budget. A rewire of the lighting was required to bring the apartment up to date.

The double sided fire place is encased in a beautiful natural stack stone that runs up to the 3.6m ceiling. The clients sourced two lovely recycled timber pieces for their mantle.

The final result had to be efficient, in line with today’s home demands and, above all, infinitely liveable.
