We were chosen as one of five finalists to create our vision at Grand Designs 2017. This was our South Beach design - a place to relax and unwind with a cocktail. Neon sign from Love Inc. Photo courtesy of Walton's.

The IKEA desk I already owned. Placing it towards the centre of the room enhanced the sense of space. The vintage tea chest was bought through Gumtree and acts as a side table, while also giving texture and interest to the room. The waste paper bin is an old tin sugar canister bought for a few dollars from a secondhand market. The cane basket was found on the side of the road and stores ribbons for gift wrapping. The wire basket above it was an inexpensive buy from Target. The clock is IKEA. The IKEA wall shelf above was restyled and the old children's books put in a cupboard elsewhere in the house. Visually this enhances the sense of space in the very small room. Photo Heather Robbins of Red Images Fine Photography
