Kitchen design with large Island to seat four in a barn conversion to create a comfortable family home. The original stone wall was refurbished, as was the timber sliding barn doors.

Something a little different to our usual style, we injected a little glamour into our handmade Decolane kitchen in Upminster, Essex. When the homeowners purchased this property, the kitchen was the first room they wanted to rip out and renovate, but uncertainty about which style to go for held them back, and it was actually the final room in the home to be completed! As the old saying goes, "The best things in life are worth waiting for..." Our Design Team at Burlanes Chelmsford worked closely with Mr & Mrs Kipping throughout the design process, to ensure that all of their ideas were discussed and considered, and that the most suitable kitchen layout and style was designed and created by us, for the family to love and use for years to come.

This industrial inspired kitchen is painted in Tom Howley bespoke paint colour Nightshade with Yukon silestone worksurfaces. The client wanted to achieve an open plan family space to entertain that would benefit from their beautiful garden space.

This contemporary alfresco kitchen is small in footprint but it is big on features including a woodfired oven, built in Electrolux barbecue, a hidden undermount rangehood, sink, Fisher & Paykel dishdrawer dishwasher and a 30 Litre pull-out bin. Featuring cabinetry 2-pack painted in Colorbond 'Wallaby' and natural granite tops in leather finished 'Zimbabwe Black', paired with the raw finished concrete this alfresco oozes relaxed style. Medium sized urban l-shaped kitchen/diner in Other with beaded cabinets, grey cabinets, wood worktops, grey splashback, metal splashback, coloured appliances, dark hardwood flooring, no island, brown floors and brown worktops.

This former garment factory in Bethnal Green had previously been used as a commercial office before being converted into a large open plan live/work unit nearly ten years ago. The challenge: how to retain an open plan arrangement whilst creating defined spaces and adding a second bedroom. By opening up the enclosed stairwell and incorporating the vertical circulation into the central atrium, we were able to add space, light and volume to the main living areas. Glazing is used throughout to bring natural light deeper into the floor plan, with obscured glass panels creating privacy for the fully refurbished bathrooms and bedrooms. The glazed atrium visually connects both floors whilst separating public and private spaces. The industrial aesthetic of the original building has been preserved with a bespoke stainless steel kitchen, open metal staircase and exposed steel columns, complemented by the new metal-framed atrium glazing, and poured concrete resin floor. Transformed from a traditional old bakery and into a super cool industrial styled kitchen. This design features cracked bronze panels, rustic styled Dekton worktops and metallic accessories. Folding doors connect the garden to the kitchen making the space perfect for entertaining.

Electric conduits were run on the original stone wall for electrical sockets and lighting above the worktops and Everhot cooker. Exterior lighting was chosen in a steel finish.
