Le linaire de cuisine se présente en deux parties. En bas, un linéaire d’éléments (60 cm x 60 cm) sont habillés par des portes en trois plis lasuré; le plan de travail, fin, est stratifié en formica jaune (spectrum yellow). En haut, et sur la quasi totalité de la hauteur du mur, un grand rayonnage en trois plis sapin et montant en pin a été mis en place, comme posé sur le plan de travail. Le rayonnage le plus bas est fermé par des portes coulissantes jaune (formica) permettant de ranger et d’avoir accès facilement aux appareils ménagés. crédits photo : Snackarchitecture

Comme à l'abri du temps, ce vieux mas resté là dans un très beau lieu aux portes du village, dans l'attente d'une nouvelle vie. C'est ce que les nouveaux propriétaires vont lui offrir lorsqu'ils nous confient leur projet de transformation, avec l'idée d'une extension pour trouver la grande pièce à vivre que les vieux murs n'offraient pas. Rien ne sera laissé au hasard, avec des choix de matières et de décoration à la fois dictée par l'existant (sol carreaux anciens conservés, vieux mur en pierre visibles, poutres apparentes) et par les goûts des occupants (entrée « théâtrale », escalier en pierre massive avec un garde corps à l'anglaise..). Ainsi le dialogue ancien et nouveau s'installe sans que l'un prévale sur l'autre. Il en sera de même pour le jardin renaissant après les affronts du terrible hiver 2010.

Le bois wengé et le vert anis ont été utilisés pour retrouver l'esprit d'une forêt exotique. Les briques de verre colorées apportent de une lumière chaleureuse et aquatique. Autre touche aquatique, l'aquarium encastré dans un coffrage qui délimite l'espace séjour.

Whilst hunting to buy the perfect property in London an executive in the oil industry and his partner chose to rent a well proportioned Victorian apartment not far from Dulwich Park. The client was keen to make his temporary pied a terre warm and inviting but it made little sense to completely repaint or wallpaper. Taking inspiration from the age and architecture of the property, as well as, the modern Victorian aesthetic of House of Hackney, a modern maximalist look was born. Sumptuous colours and fabrics were chosen to make the space rich and cocooning. Ornaments, photographs and art work are displayed alongside the clients' book collection to create a relaxed, eclectic space that can now be called home.
