I live in a modest house, and two years after my partner died, I felt ready for a change. I wanted to fall in love with my home again and create what I hoped would be my forever home. I wasn’t quite sure where to begin, but then I had a bit of a eureka moment — perhaps thinking slightly outside the box — and decided to look for an interior designer. When I came across Sophie Louisa Interior Designers’ website and met Sophie for the first time, I immediately knew I didn’t need to look any further. Sophie is wonderfully suited to her profession. She has an exceptional eye for design and is completely on her clients’ side. She searches for the best options and sales, visits shops with you, and carefully considers every detail — from fabrics, furniture and paint colours to rugs, plants and pots. She gently encouraged me (and my home) out of our comfort zone, and I truly love the result. Visitors often comment on how peaceful the house feels, which is exactly what I had hoped for. Her dedicated team worked in my home for several weeks. They were a lovely group of people — respectful, considerate, and always pleasant to greet each morning. It was clear they had great respect for Sophie and that they worked together as a united team. As project manager, Sophie visited several times each week and was always available at the end of the phone, which was very reassuring. I can wholeheartedly recommend Sophie and her team. She possesses that invaluable combination of a brilliant eye for design and being expert at scheduling the work. Her company was able to accomplish a great deal (painting, replacing carpeting with hardwood floors, recarpeting entire upstairs, wallpaper, interior lighting scheme, window treatments and more) within just six weeks. Sophie is also enormously generous with her time. For example, she spent a whole day in London with me looking at lighting. We are absolutely thrilled with how our house turned out. It was a pleasure to work with Sophie and her team in all respects.

Prior to commencing a refurbishment of our property after moving in we were not even sure that we wanted/needed an interior designer. Having completed the project, we know with absolute certainty that Sophie Louisa Interiors and her team were an invaluable, indispensable, incredible part of the whole process. They have turned our house into a home! With Sophie one gets an accomplished designer whom listens carefully and accommodates whims and wishes where appropriate (and can tactfully explain why some ideas are perhaps bad ideas!). 3D designs bring ideas and discussions to life, and choices/alternatives are viewed alongside one another. It makes the process of selecting a design quick, simple and pain-free, as Sophie removes all of the confusion. That simplification and streamlining of the process and thus efficiency with our time was, to me, very welcome. Sophie is then also excellent at execution (as we elected to benefit from her and her team of Merry Men carrying out the works that she had designed). Her project management minimised our own need for involvement, her organisation and ability to be across all aspects of the project provided endless reassurance that we'd not missed anything or that nothing was being forgotten. Sophie has a depth of experience and works with tried and trusted tradesmen whom know and understand her work, and her ethos. Her experience is of great benefit to clients, as she does this all day, every day, and has likely solved every problem one is likely to encounter on previous projects, and carries that wisdom into everything she does. Sophie is able to talk with her team about big construction issues, planning details, niche plumbing or electrical issues and right down to the cutest of finishing touches and the fanciest of details (and able to explain it to me in the most idiot-proof of terms!) she removed the worry that we might make poor choices due to not understanding the issue or the technical explanation from the contractor. Having had Sophie complete our project, we never want to move house again as its just what we wanted, and better than we had dared hope. However, if we do ever move house again, or when the time comes to smarten up another property, we know that there is only one interior designer, project manager, superhuman problem-solver and all-round lovely lady that we'd turn to. And that is Sophie Louisa Interiors!

Sophie and her crew are amazing! After we did a big kitchen renovation, I was overwhelmed with the thought of all the other spaces that needed updating and we hired Sophie to help us with the design and layout for the rest of our house -- bathrooms, a garage conversion, bedrooms, our great room, and more. Sophie has excellent taste and an elegant eye for design and she has the experience and know-how to translate client needs and wishes into reality. Plus, she's just a wonderful person and a delight to work with. Sophie had infinite patience with us as our circumstances and plans changed on multiple occasions; nothing was too much bother and she always delivered on time and within budget. Space planning, materials selection, final touches -- she can do it all. The team of tradesmen Sophie works with are top-notch, too -- hardworking, trustworthy, with excellent quality and workmanship. The work we were looking to have done consisted of the removal of a large bathroom and airing cupboard to make a bathroom and a double bedroom, and the remodelling of our en-suite, cloakroom and utility room. We liked Sophie from the first meeting. She clearly described how she saw the work progressing in 3 Phases and priced each phase accordingly. The work started on time and her team worked to the weekly schedule we received from Sophie. The work stared to extend as the lead times on materials grew longer with the effect Covid and the team also had their fair share of illness. This meant the work took much longer than expected lasting 3 months longer than the 6 months predicted. At all times we were kept up to date with developments including photos and suggestions for the refurbishment. One should not underestimate the the disruption and level of dust that demolishing interior walls etc can cause, although the team, including Sophie cleaned up as much as they could we move out for a couple of months to make their work easier. The finished work was all that we could have hoped for and more as Sophie has a wealth of information, knowledge and contacts which does come at a price, but the high end finish is an absolute investment in the property. We would have no hesitation in recommending and using Sophie’s service again.

Sophie is innovative and efficient. She has brilliant ideas and her eye for colour is perfect. We have a new build house and she has transformed it into a warm and welcoming home.

When I bought my house I decided to re-decorate but the scale of the project was slightly intimidating.
