We thoroughly enjoyed working with Matt and the team. He made the whole process incredibly smooth and was always on hand with support whenever we needed it. Matt brings great ideas, real knowledge, and a clear passion for what he does. As a result of his hard work and expertise, our very complex, dilapidated and historic building, had planning granted. We worked with Freeman Architecture on our major bungalow renovation where we’ve added a large box dormer and will soon be adding a ground floor extension. Matt came up with a great design concept which we felt worked really well to compliment the existing property. Drawings were all to a high standard, so much so that the Building Control officer complimented the thoroughness of the engineering drawings. We also had to consult on a number of topics through the build as well as little design changes, and Matt was always on hand to discuss them and offer his advice.

Matthew was recommended to us and we are very happy to recommend to others! We were new to the area and new to building work and so his recommendations at the design stage and later recommendations on good traders and suppliers were very useful to us. The project changed from a reconfiguration to an extension and so we needed Matthew to change the original plans and design a new layout around the extension. He came up with a fantastic new plan that we are now working with for the build with a supplier that Matthew recommended.

He came up with w great initial design – we had to change some of it, but he enabled us to meet our objectives while keeping interesting new features to improve our property (a 1960s bungalow). A technically challenging assignment, flawlessly designed. Easy to work with.

We worked with Freeman Architecture to design, plan and oversee a substantial extension and renovation on our home which completed earlier this year. Matt was a pleasure to work with throughout, fully understanding the brief but also providing advice and design ideas that we hadn't considered. The professionalism and high standards demonstrated throughout the process were critical to the success. Matt was a calming influence for us overseeing the work and when unforeseen problems materialised was readily available to advise and provide solutions. Technical knowledge shown with regards to building construction was outstanding! Freeman Architecture are highly recommended, we love our redesigned family home and the end result has greatly exceeded expectations.

The task was the redevelop the rear of our house adding a small extension and creating an open-plan dining kitchen as well as re-designing the entrance to the house at the front. Matt provided an initial set of design ideas that we commented on which were then developed into a complete design. He advised on selecting a builder and then, as we were going to be abroad for part of the period when the building work took place, he project managed for us. Both while we were away and when we got back he was able to give us advice and suggest tweaks to the plans along the way. We were particularly pleased with his suggestion to include a 'living roof' using sedum plants on the small front extension. The whole process took quite a bit longer than we had anticipated - nearly two years from start to finish - not due to any fault of his or the builder but rather because of the demand for builders in this area in recent times. It was reassuring to have him advise us along the way.
