Last year we bought our house in Queen's Park and needed an architect to fast-track our proposals so that we would be able to carry out the planning permissions and the construction work prior to us selling our current home and moving in to the new home. After a number of initial meetings with Sean and his team and viewing various other properties they had designed in the area, we decided to take RISE on as our project manager and architect. Straight away they were able to understand what we wanted and work with us not against us. RISE were great communicators from the beginning. In addition, they were very good listeners, easy-going, attentive and receptive to all our ideas and concerns we had. RISE made sure the whole process ran smoothly when it came to dealing with the council planning department, the contractor and the other consultants. They also helped on recommending different suppliers at varying price ranges. RISE is very much about the detail design and ensured the work was done to the highest standard. RISE were on site on a regular basis to ensure good progress and answer any doubts from the builder. We are really happy with how the work turned out. The design is practical, beautiful, highly detailed and in-keeping with the area. They also managed to create and maintain light and space within the house whilst massively increasing the useable space. We can happily highly recommend RISE Design Studio to anyone who is looking for a high quality design and highly professional service.

Five years after buying our 1930s house we decided that it needed a major refurbishment. The outdoor toilet had it’s charm but required boldness when raining and the loft was insulated with pieces of cardboard! We set about engaging an architect to talk through our ideas and the options for a ground floor rear extension and loft conversion. Following an initial consultation with RISE, we decided to take them on as our architect and project manager. From the beginning we had great communication with RISE. They were great listeners and receptive to all the concerns and questions we had. We immediately felt reassured that they would create the house we wanted rather than force set ideas about design upon us – that it would be a collaboration. RISE were very helpful in navigating the complicated (as we were trying to do something out of the ordinary) planning process with the council. They had good knowledge of a range of contractors and a team of consultants on hand to turn the project on paper into reality. This was especially aided by the use of BIMx technology-computer aided design, which allowed you to walk through a VR simulation of the house. We made decisions based on this. RISE is very much about the detail design and ensured the work was done to a high standard. They frequently visited the site to monitor progress and answer queries from the builder. RISE were happy to meet with us frequently aswell to work out all the tricky bits and talk us through the endless decisions that come with such a major renovation. RISE coped with huge calmness and flexibility when our vison shifted and designs needed to be altered. We are very happy with how the work turned out. The design is clean, highly detailed, unique as well as practical. The spaces are highly functional with plenty of storage. The spaces are filled with natural light, which was a key aim of the project from conception. We highly recommend RISE Design Studio to anyone who is looking for a professional team who care and invest in making a home that is right for you.

We worked with Sean and Maria at RISE Design Studio to design and build a new 5-bed detached house on the steeply sloped site of a tired existing house. After an engaging exploratory phone call, they were with us for every step of the journey from sketching ideas and obtaining planning permission to attending the site meetings throughout the build. RISE offered an ingenious design solution to maximise the floor space on the site, devising a contemporary building filled with light, while respecting the context and being sensitive to the neighbouring buildings. RISE also champion sustainability and innovative building techniques, which are holistically integrated into the design process. Throughout the past 3 years of working with RISE, we have found them to be excellent listeners and creative problem-solvers, always with great attention to detail. RISE Design Studio is an extremely capable practice. We found Sean and team to be very transparent and honest, as well as extremely diligent in their work. Sean's knowledge of the local planning regulations was excellent - the project had no issues getting through Brent planning dept. We found the use of materials to be really unique and innovative. The construction teams they work with follow the same ethos of integrity, transparency and are highly capable builders. Overall we were really impressed with the incredible value added to the job by Sean and team. They worked tirelessly throughout the design process, always finding innovative ways to address design challenges - well worth the money!

We hired the excellent Rise Design for our kitchen extension as a full service architect. They were great to work with and we were very happy with the final outcome, the choice of materials, and attention to detail, and responsiveness and aesthetic approach over the course of the job. They helped sourcing poured concrete suppliers, and high quality frameless sliding doors, along with projected box window and designed cabinetry and kitchen island detailing. Any problems that came up over the course of the job were dealt with swiftly and effectively, and the final results were excellent - I would highly recommend Rise Design Studio

Sean and the team helped us to realise our idea of utilising the large undeveloped loft space in our home to provide a home for my mother that was adapted to her needs as an older person whilst keeping a modern and openplan feel. We wanted natural light to be maximised and to make the most of the height of the loft and the view. The process was wonderfully collaborative: RISE were great listeners and were passionate about the project from start to finish. They came up with great ideas that really made the loft a unique home that really fitted the brief. They were very creative and adaptable, overcoming practical issues without drama or additional stress. We found them very easygoing, transparent and supportive throughout the build but simultaneously rigorously committed to getting the project right. They were confident that they could deliver and they did, my mother is very, very happy in her new home. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

We decided to work with RISE Design Studio after meeting with a number of architects, and RISE and his team made a very good impression on us from the first meeting. We had purchased a ground floor apartment that needed complete refurbishment as well as side and rear extensions and we wanted to make a lot of changes to the layout. We were very impressed by the number of options RISE produced at concept stage, and they evolved the design continually through from concept to developed design phase. Their dedication to our project throughout the process - from the delivery of the complete building project - made us very happy to work with them. Throughout the project, RISE was dedicated and met with us as frequently as needed to discuss their designs or any other related issues to the process. RISE were highly professional at all times, and they are an incredibly down to earth and kind, which makes interacting with them a real pleasure. They have always been quick to respond to any queries, and have been very clear and thorough in all correspondence. In addition, their fee was fair in relation to the level of service provided (comprehensive), and in relation to other architects we spoke with. We are really happy with the work they have completed for us, and would very highly and happily recommend them.

RISE Design Studio designed and project managed the remodelling of our roof extension to our top floor apartment opposite the Natural History Museum. Their knowledge and experience were key to the success of the project as they organised suppliers and contractors for us as well as providing invaluable advice at all stages. We met with Sean and his team to work on designing an office that would feel spacious yet not imposing in our London terrace garden. We couldn't be happier with the results. Sean was able to create an incredible brutalist inspired one of a kind that incorporates all our favourite materials and needs. Sinking the mild steel structure meant we gained a double height ceiling yet in a building that sits no higher than our neighbour's shed. The building is underfloor heated and clad in ply for extra insulation. It was cool to sit in during the hot summer months and now feels cosy as the colder nights draw in. We love the light and airy space and can’t imagine the house any differently now.
