Comments (6)I bought it! Was playing around with it all day yesterday and you’re right - the best I tried so far, so went ahead and bought it. Their tutorials are very good also, I was able to use it right away without taking a whole course like you would need with AutoCAD. My first project on it (for a client). Really impressed with it!! I didn’t think I will be using 3D, but because it is building in 3D parallel to the 2D elevations and floor plans - I can use both. Can really justify £65 spent! Thank you for your advise! I’m pleased with it and you should get it too!...See Morepen plan kitchen living room design question. room for island?
Comments (5)Hi Graham, When in doubt, it's always helpful to use masking tape on the floor to visualize the actual size of an item of furniture or in your case, a kitchen island. A standard kitchen worktop is 60 in depth and usually (as best practice) 120 cm is left between a kitchen worktop and a kitchen island. The reason for that is to provide free movement if there are 2 people cooking in the kitchen at the same time (but also if one of them is opening an oven door, for example, and therefore needs more space to back up to do so easily). In order to help you visualize, I've marked in red the kitchen worktop depth and kitchen island. However, I've left around 90 – 100 cm between the two as some people actually prefer it that way. In green would be a standard/smaller two-seat sofa. As you can see, if you wish to have sofas and a dining area in the same room, there isn't much space left if you wish to add a kitchen island. I don't know the requirements of your project but from what I can see from the plan, the kitchen should be more than enough to cover the basic needs. Hope this helps to answer your question. Good luck!...See MorePantry design - Sleek and modern? Or rustic and traditional?
