Rattan advice please!

I'm trying to buy a rattan sofa set similar to the one posted here for my patio - any advice on where to buy and how to determine quality of rattan sofa sets? I have upto £800 / $1200 to spend and would like to have a nice corner layout (facing top right of patio in picture) that can seat 4-6 people for evening drinks! Thank you in advance for your help!

If you intend to leave the set out in wet weather consider the frame. Aluminium is best as it does not rust or leave rust marked on the patio/deck. I have a corner sofa made from steel and that leaves rust marks over a period of time, however I got it at a very good price. I also purchased a dining table about 6 years ago which is aluminium and it still looks as good as new.

Hi I would put a planted green screen of a nice flowering hedge which also has berries in the winter like Berberis. It will give you privacy and its not totally solid as a fence or wall would be and will give a much softer look. It also gives security as it has small prickly barbs You say your window sills are too narrow to take window boxes so why not put a nice long wrought iron planter under the full width of the window, attach to the wall, (It looks like the windows are quite low) or if not put a free standing planter under the window. I would not get rid of the front lawn and just have concrete slabs as you already have all the drive paved, it will just look like to much concrete and harsh unless you add some plants or create maybe a circular flower bed Too much concrete prevents good drainage too Adding a porch would be a great idea, perhaps just glass which will give a modern contemporary feel Also once you have changed that paint colour it will look a lot better

Looks like a nice space -I could easily relax in your lovely corner sofa! Personally, 1. I would add rattan chair - natural colour, you have loads of cushions so 1 or 2 on the rattan chair would tie in with your scheme. 2. The pictures above the sofa could be moved to the left to line up more against the end of the sofa. 3. The lamp on the white table - try to find something much bigger - relative to the sofa it appears very small. The main thing is not to sweat too much - rooms devolve and part of the fun/enjoyment is finding things that you like.

Thanks. It was an online purchase and was priced up wrong and I also had a 40% off code so got it at about 25% of its original price from Argos! This was 3 years ago.

Try Very i.e. the online catalogue. Rattan corner set about £599 although they tend to do the usual sales
