Bed position?!

Hi there,
We have just moved into a flat with an awkward shaped master bedroom and are struggling where to put the bed! The current position leaves very limited space for a bedside shelf and lamp.
Do you think we should extend the chimney breast on the left, remove the shelves and put the bed against that side of the room instead of the current position?
We don't need the shelf space as we have plenty of storage in the built in wardrobes which are well made so we don't want to remove these.

10 years agoI had something similar in my old house with the chimney breast and hung curtains among the wall so you couldn't see the shelves but I never lost any storage
- 10 years agoAlso seen this in a house I was looking at while back, gives you somewhere for a lamp with corner shelf,, or maybe you could hang the lamps from above so you didn't need the shelf
