Help! Advice needed. How to update this bathroom?
Comments (17)I'm in total agreement with Jonathonandb1972. I think the wall tiles are quite modern. The flooring lets the whole thing down and replacing it would vastly improve the overall look. You could also go for a dark chocolate feature wall to match in with the flooring on the wall with the sink and mirror.I noticed the bottom of the shower, i have just done the same with bendable acrylic sheet matched to the colour of the walls in my downstairs shower room. ( So you can access the pipework ) We have ( my wife has ) - just finished this room, choosing not to hack the tiles from the wall as it makes a big old mess, she's covered over the tiles with Tongue and Groove and re-tiled the inside of the shower.Transformed the old place! She's a clever old stick and a top tiler!...See MorePlease I need your advice on how to update a "yellowish" kitchen?
Comments (16)I was going to suggest to change the cabinets doors/handles and the plinths ? and keep the carcass, for the island replace or add on a side end panels matching the doors as it does in the picture? lets hang that out of the window for now but don t let go until your positive that you don t want it? firstly , the floors , if your planning to change just the tiles so it keeps the kitchen separated from the dinner/living ? brown wood style porcelain tile or going through out with the brown tiles For the walls Farrow & Ball ,Cooking Apple Green xxx it seems ,You have a backdated ? cooker/oven,extractor fan, microwave, fridge , it does remind me off some thing from Back To The Future , THEY NEED TO GO,stain less steel all the way Mosaic tiles, brown with a mix colours, above the kitchen work top upstands , or you can continue the paint for the walls i can t see the sink ,is it white?, probably you will need to up date it as well ? stainless steel and a its wise to get a deep base...See MoreIdeas on how to update a serving hatch/ kitchen hatch?
Comments (25)We had a serving hatch that we have opened up so we can use as a small breakfast bar - we didn’t want open plan as our dogs sleep in the kitchen if we have guests over. We also want the option to close it (if I get up in the night for a drink, the kitchen light wakes our parrot up!!). we want to avoid Louvre doors but can’t find a blind that seems small enough. Any ideas?...See MoreHelp Ideas on how I can update this kitchen (bring it back to life)
Comments (5)It’s a nice kitchen so I don’t think it will take too much effort to update it. The worktop dates it so something lighter in a white or marble look laminate would look nice. My sister had her worktop vinyl wrapped and it looks really good but it’s quite a labour intensive option and it cost £300 for her pretty tiny L shaped kitchen. I’m not sure if the budget will stretch for LVT but certainly worth getting quotes in. I’ve recently had sheet vinyl laid in my bathroom and it looks great and a very affordable option. I wouldn’t worry about the blind until the rest is done. You don’t say what sort of blind you’re looking for - roller, slats, Roman blind?...See More- 10 years ago
