Need help planning my living room
Comments (17)Swveng, 20 ft x 8 ft is a difficult space to create one space. If I'm not mistaken, there would have been a wall about where the TV is now sited and a second working fireplace. Is it possible to remove the chimney breast where you no longer use a fire? This may involve removing the stack right up through the house and roof. If it's a possibility, you will gain more space at that end of your lounge and in the room above as well. You may also want to consider dividing the spaces again with a new stud wall. Should you keep the long space open and remove the chimney breast, the TV unit could be moved to that spot. Another 2 seater sofa could be positioned facing into this area at right angles to the brown sofa to create a TV viewing area. The other end of the room with the bay window could have the easy chair in the bay plus a games table with chairs in front of the fireplace. This can be a homework area as well for the family. Once you work out how to use the space and which furniture pieces you want to retain , if any, then you can decide the colour scheme....See MoreHelp Redesigning my Living Room
Comments (0)Hello, i need help redesigning my living room. It has to be a living room/workspace for 2 persons. I rearranged it likes 20 times and I'm out of ideas, it's driving me crazy. I would love to hear your ideas. The furniture does not have to be the same as now. Here are some pictures: https://imgur.com/a/1qAhqLA Thanks alot! All the best....See Morehelp with my living room
Comments (1)At first glance the rug is just too small, swimming about on the wooden floor. It makes the furniture look rather dotted about. It’s a nice room and I feel a bigger rug will make it more cohesive....See Morehelp with my living room
Comments (20)Thanks kazzh and Mandy for your comments. I hadn’t actually tried the sofa not directly under the bay as asthetically I thought it should go central in the bay, but I could give it a go, I have only got the 1 chair now as the other one was taking up too much space. Mandy if you could send a photo that would be amazing as if you have the same layout it would be nice to see how you’ve done it. I did paint the fireplace wall but decided to paint it back as like others had said there was no feature for it to look right. I think over time I will get a fireplace as it will probably make it look more complete like you have said. I hate seeing myself in the mirror all the time when I put one above the fireplace so I was hoping to get a smaller round one that wasn’t so in your face as I think the one I hung before was too big. I’m waiting for my dad to be able to hang curtains as i hate not having them I think it makes the room look bare, due to the shape of the bay window they need special ones which is costly and above my expertise!
