Every day you come home to a space that's (hopefully) clean, bright and welcoming. But in which room do you tend to go 'aaahhh, this is the room I like the most'? Which room do you feel most proud of, and probably most inclined to want to show off to guests?

10 years agoI really love my bathroom with its up cycled wash basin unit made from an antique sideboard. My husband cut it down so that we could have sit-on basins and waterfall taps. he painted and waxed it with Annie Sloan's Graphite, and polyurethaned the top. The Venetian style mirrors finish the look. It makes me happy every time I go in there and our visitors love it too.

Comments (41)Ironing. I don't. As others have mentioned, I also take clothes straight out of the tumble dryer and fold nicely. Since I finished with the city job, 10 yrs ago, am now resident in snowy N Yorkshire and run a small cheese making business I am lucky that I no longer have to wear shirts or ultra smart clothes for work, just a polo shirt, jeans and jumper. Actually no longer own an iron. Dusting too. Hate it. Also, my vacuum cleaner is afraid of heights so seldom makes it upstairs. Comments (33)Hi Ocean Clarke ( lovely name!). I started collecting glass in general about five years ago, picking g it up in charity shops, car boots and auctions. One day I found a piece of Whitefriars glass and it knocked all the other glass into a cocked hat! I got rid of most of the other glass and started collecting Whitefriars, the best glass ever made in the UK, in my opinion. It took me roughly three years to put this collection together but it is more difficult to find, so most of it I bought on eBay or through auctions. I found the occasional piece in charity shops, and bought a lot from a retiring collector. I've virtually stopped now due to chronic lack of space but we are moving into a larger home soon and my ambition is to have custom built glass shelving with great lighting and glass doors (dusting this little lot takes three hours wearing white cotton gloves, eeeek)!!! PRO10 years agoThe kitchen has to be what we consider to be the heart of a home! When a wine cellar's installed, it's definitely a room that people are drawn to.
Spiral Cellar with Half Round Trap Door · More Info- PRO10 years agoMy kitchen/ deck room, we had it renovated 4 years ago, it was our personal grand design, with walls removed or openings cut much wider, by for doors between rims and also to the deck which (when it's not raining) is our summer lounge - all the doors can be folded back to make one big open plan longer/dining area/kitchen/garden-deck....... love it and it still has the word factor

- 10 years agoWe've recently had our kitchen refurbished with a wall down between the kitchen and breakfast room, then new wood flooring added and a new light oak kitchen installed by Kensworth Kitchens with lots of pull out storage and a new American style fridge freezer. We chose our Ivory Cream granite slabs from Chiltern Marble. I love the mantle with storage within and the light granite makes the classic design much more lighter and modern. The island is two sets of three pan drawers including wide cutlery drawers. I love everything organised and to hand when I'm cooking. The bank of tall cupboards at the breakfast end with swing out storage is wonderful. Everyone who has seen the kitchen is wowed by it, this makes me feel very proud to have such a lovely kitchen, particularly as when we bought the house 11 months ago the kitchen was badly designed and very tired and shabby, I appreciate having a beautiful kitchen I designed to suit my needs.
