Need help choosing range colour, wall colour and tiles in kitchen
Comments (27)Update - alabaster painted oak units, oak worktop, (curved end units and worktop corners) belfast sink, 1100 stainless steel rangemaster porcelain large high gloss ivory 600x600 floor tiles, ivory grout - please see attached look book just still to decide on shade of sage on walls - deciding between F&B Mizzle, Vert De Terre, Ball Green and Cooking Apple Green... Also metro sub/way tiles on walls - whether to go for a sage tile or cream/white... The dining room area off the kitchen will have oak parquet floor which will follow through from hall and will also be in the lounge but Im thinking of following the wall colour in the kitchen through to the dining room for continuity and potentially painting the chimney brest or wall furthest away from and facing the kitchen a darker green complementary colour... Comments (3)Thanks Sophie, we finally bought the 600 x 600 as we loved it do much, with similar colour grout I think it would be fine. what are your thoughts on the grout? We are doing an inside floor and flowing into the outside patio with the same porcelain stone, except one is an outdoor rougher finish. But... we've been told that the laying of the stone outdoor needs a 4mm grout line minimum, preferably 5mm for outside, but the inside we were hoping for 2 or 3, but then it will look like its a mistake, and different if the grout sizes are different and the tiles wont obviously line up.. so now we're not sure how to lay them, either next to each other, or in a brick tile fashion, and now what do we do about grout? Same inside and out maybe a 4mm for both, or smaller inside and larger outside? This is all Too confusing, what do most people do?.. we're also not sure if we need expansion joints anywhere else? We currently have them at the join (between ply and concrete base) and doorways, but not sure if needed anywhere else? we have a good strong flat base, and de coupling matt too and flexible adhesive is that enough? Comments (4)Sorry, I mistook the tile cement for grouting! I think you could put a single or double row of the tiles horizontally as a "border" to finish off the splashback. The ideal would be if the grout lines between the horizontal tiles match up with the vertical grout lines......See More- 9 years agolast modified: 9 years ago
We do want a bit of colour but also not brave enough!! In case not look ok so might stick with subway tiles.
We're thinking to get mirror on the wall above the sink. Again not too sure. What do you think ??
