Hi Heba I concur with what a lot of people have said about the sealant. Some paving stones are more porous than others and will need sealing to prevent them from absorbing water. I am also concerned, from the photo, that the water has nowhere to drain to. All paved areas need to be laid on a fall (a uniform gradient) to allow water to run off them. This fall should be directed to a drain or planting border so that it has somewhere to drain to. I recommend pavingexpert.com as the most concise and simple reference for information on these matters. Regarding the colour change, I'm afraid this natural weathering happens to all stone. The stone can be brought back to it original colour by jet-washing.

Hi Rowen, I can't quite identify the knobs/handles in Claire's images (and there are quite a few others in this thread!), but we may be able to help source what you are looking for. We have a variety of hadle suppliers, but one of our favourite for "cup & knob" in a variety of lovely finishes is Crofts & Assinder - crofts.co.uk - a really great, British company with some lovely designs and finishes. Some leftover roof tiles were used to build this wood store on the side of a garage (wood is from dead trees felled on the same site), which is practical and adds to the look of the garden. If you were to widen the front by removing some stone would it be large enough for similar, with a sleeper across the front, or even a bike-shed/park?

I think in these situations you have to buy a 2.5L tin and paint it on. If you want to go darker then try Stirabout. I contains similar colours to SS but is deeper and a touch warmer. If you want to go lighter then it it's tricky as the magenta in Skimming Stone will make lots of colours look too yellow so All White is a good bet. My view with doing rooms is to look at the values and the temperature. If all the values are too similar it can feel flat and lack depth so a slab of dark contrast etc can help. Temperature is a physical sensation we feel when we enter a space and can relate to bad lighting, lack of natural light or using colours that makes us feel cold. It can also relate to too many shiny surfaces, so wood is always a good way of balancing things. Looking amazing though.
