Hi Lauren! I worked on a project with a similar situation! The windows were in a spare bedroom, so ideally they really did need to be covered at night time, however only when people were staying over. We had venetian blinds made for the standard rectangular window, then for the 2 angled windows, we produced a 'shield'. Basically, we got our joiner to make two shields which were templated to the same shape as the window reveals, with a handle in the centre, which then hooked on to the window. So they could be taken up and down as you wish. They were produced in oak and finished the same colour as the rest of the joinery and blinds, with a handle in pewter to match the rest of the ironmongery in the house. Unfortunately I don't have ay photos of the shields, but you can see the window, and the hooks that the shield mounts on to! We found this to be the most simple, unfussy option, and you are still able to see the windows in their full glory. The shields are kept in the cupboard when not being used. I hope this helps! I too thought shutters would block out too much light, but the look when fitted is so lovely, and with wider size slats, the more light they let in. The pics below have small slats but its the same style of bay with shutters. Also don't have the push rods on the front if you want a cleaner look. Having the slats split so top/bottom open separately like pic below is also good if you want privacy without shutting out light from the top. High gloss shutters also reflect light into the room and shutters seem to go with any look, period or contemporary.

Our loft company came up with this design. Despite being aluminium, the frames take up a lot of the nice view. Cost £2250. Suggested making the central panel twice as wide and the two side windows smaller (narrower and less long). Does anyone have any bright ideas as to how to make this feature thin framed aluminium window more appealing?

Hi Jason! Personnally I wouldn't block it, I think that it would be a waste of money. Even if it doesn't bring enough light from the outside currently, it will still help with air circulation. And you don't even need tons of natural light in your bathroom to create a fabulous space ;) I previously designed a bathroom that doesn't even have a window. By modifying the lighting and playing with some colours it really changed the perception of the space!
