High gloss red kitchen with island · More Info

Hi all,

With Christmas around the corner, we would like to share with you one of our latest projects!

This kitchen takes you right back to the 50’s. The retro-styled kitchen has been designed by choosing high-gloss red and black cabinets which are complimented by frosted glass units and a white quartz worktop.

The kitchen is not only practical for the client, but also inviting, as the island has been carefully designed to enable people to come and interact with the space through the striking red bar-stools.

The overall layout has been carefully chosen and appliances have been positioned ensuring that the client has everything they need within a practical working triangle.

The kitchen is a bright and light space, but still feels warm through the light wooden flooring complimenting the bold kitchen.

Click here to see our whole project and we would love to hear what you think about it!

Many thanks,

The in-toto Marlow Team

Beautiful design and very practical. I just got an idea that it would be even more practical if it had an L shape kitchen island. Cook top on one side and the space for preparing food on the other side. It would also create a semi closed space for a cook between the island and the window. I like the concept of enable people to come and interact with the space through bar-stools. Best of luck! /Marcin

I love the orange. I toyed with the idea of orange but opt for lime green instead. What is the appliance over the top of the oven? Just thought it was rather high to lift pots and pans out of.

Not at all, the clients completed a thorough house refurbishment over 8 months, including wall removals and extensive upgrades to services. The kitchen took a month, including fabrication of worktops, which takes approximately 10 days, electrical and plumbing connections.

I wouldnt have a hob or sink in mine, and don't plan to when we do the kitchen next year. I want the island to be a sociable space so anything like a sink or hob would just be in the way. I rarely cook at the hob much, in fact the only time I use hob is to heat up tin of soup or baked beans! Even then that could get done in microwave!! I use the oven a lot. So, I certainly wouldnt be at hob cooking for entertaining! Sink, I think sinks should be next to dishwasher - out of the way. However if you are stuck for space elsewhere then I guess I would be open to putting appliance on the island.
