Hi guys, Yes I plan on putting shelves in (or the glass holders that hold the glass by its stem) but wanted to decorate the back first. Will have a look at that site and also look for DIY options. I'm sure it involves acid - hence why I didn't want to try it myself.

What a lovely kitchen. I think I would be thinking of "warming up" the kitchen with some nice rustic shelving. By using rich woods, this will bring warmth to the kitchen but also be practical. You already have areas for lighting so you should take advantage but rather than using spotlights, try out uplighters or more unusual types of lighting. You could even install half pennant industrial shades to bring light to the work surfaces. If you wanted to make a real statement piece try stencils or maybe a large enamel sign.

The square or rectangular mirror definitely compliments the beautiful bathroom and the architecture of the room. All shapes and styles of mirror have their place in residential and commercial properties. I also love hand silvered antique mirror glass in mirrors.

Saw an article on Apartment Therapy talking about mirrored splashbacks recently. Had some lovely photos featured, I personally preferred the options where the glass is raised up from the hob slightly. Could you maybe get a piece of the upstand cut to fill the gap? Also having it 'framed' by wall either side looks better to me than it spanning the whole space. I've mocked it up to extractor fan level and to ceiling level (I've guesstimated the tile scale but hope it gives you the idea). Personally I prefer the latter in this space as the proportions look better. http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/mirror-backsplash-ideas-that-arent-from-the-70s-or-80s-248551
