One possibility is to re-drill properly located holes. If one hole of each pair is off, you might only have to redrill one of the holes. Then, if the part of the pull that butts against the cabinet door is wide enough, it will hide the old hole wen the pull is reinstalled. However, because a new hole will be drilled close to an old one, it would be best to glue a wooden plug/dowel in each old hole before drilling anew. On the other hand, if the bases of the pulls are fairly small, the handles won't hide the re-work unless you pick out new pulls that will.

In any case, this re-work may be beyond the skills of the incompetents who installed the pulls in the first place. Sorry, that's the best I can suggest short of replacing the cabinet doors.

In principle,I agree with kudz but can't help but wondering if the problem is as serious as portrayed. 1/8th" doesn't sound like it would be noticeable. Perhaps a picture might change my mind.

It is up to the designer to provide a diagram showing hardware placement if that is important to you. Not just show someone who may not speak English well.

The holes can most likely be repaired and redrilled. It depends on what they actually did. Which no one knows without pictures.

Also the bottom of the pull was supposed to be 1" up from the bottom of the door (I held them up where I wanted them and explained clearly) But a different worker drilled the holes and instead centered the hole 1" from the bottom.

Pull back for a big shot from actual viewing distance. Doors and drawers are often not 100% level and plumb until the final adjustment at the end. It may be possible that could be contributing to the perception. Or, his installers could just be hacks, and there are other issues that you aren’t aware of.

Substandard workmanship. I shudder to think what the rest of the work is like.

That's totally unacceptable. It looks like they just eyeballed it, crossed their fingers, and drilled. Those are so far off that the fix I originally suggested above is unlikely to work. Whoever did that had no idea what they were doing. And I see no way to patch properly so the damage won’t be noticeable when the handles are properly located. If it were me, I’d be expecting new doors, paid for by the contractor.

The one door above with all the holes, cannot be repaired, so that is one new door. I would ask for all new doors, and then, I wouldnt let them put on the hardware. Yes, it is noticable, and yes,it is way more than 1/16 off. 1/16 wouldnt be all that noticable, and I might let that go. If they havent done all the doors, dont let them touch the rest. It is the contractors responsibility to order and pay for new doors, and I wouldnt worry about him losing money, he should have been there supervising, or at least making sure he had someone doing them, that was capable of doing them right.

Those butt doors don't seem to have enough gappage to open without rubbing against each other. Where did he source the cabinets? In house custom?

I'm also seeing a few issues in that backsplash.

How did you come to hire this particular contractor? Does he carry the required workman's comp and liability?

I don't know if your hardware has an install problem, but if mine do coming up in early summer 2018, then all friggen heck will break loose.

They ordered all the cabinets on cabinets.com. They seem to open and close alright.
I've not had too many problems with their work, but the sub they used did to a TERRIBLE job on the ceiling. I'm really not happy at all with that. I'll post pictures. But I've thought the backsplash looked good. I would love to hear your concerns! He is a licences contractor and has a lot of jobs going right now.

Ouch. I hope you havent paid for this stuff, because, if it were mine, the ceiling would be redone, by someone that knows how to do it. If you havent paid, do not pay, until things are done correctly.

I would not be happy with an import cabinet source for the project, or the labor that placed it in the home, and then hacked it up. Too many red flags on too many things.

Getting replacement parts from an import line is excruciatingly difficult. The contractor may have to buy all new cabinets again to get replacement doors. On a turn and burn project like he did here, that is not likely to happen.

I’m sorry, but you may want to get out your contract again and go over it with your lawyer.

Because no KD would work with these idjuts, or put those cabinets in someone’s house. KD’s actually have a Professional Duty to not do harm. Just like a Dr.

Okay, we have it worked out. The builder is mortified and amazed that his guys did such a crap job. He is ordering new doors and will be installing the hardware himself. I'm willing to live with the position not being what I wanted as long as they can make them even which he feels confident they can.
We have been working with a designer and this builder wasn't the low bid -- but his bid was competitive. It seems that for some reason they just screwed up badly on this.

Dont pay them any more money. I would also have them stop working. On the picture above, your countertop, looks raised in the corner too.
