I love yellow, really pretty Marlorena!

So lovely Marlorena!

I really want this one and have a spot for it too. Just waiting for DA to offer ownroot or for hortico to offer it on multiflora.

I loved this at the garden in shropshire - and love the name!

I passed this one off at first but then you inspired me to get it and I’m really enjoying them - and the bees are, too!

So pretty. The petals look like butterfly wings! I so enjoy getting a glimpse of the new Austin releases from you, Marlorena. Thank you for sharing.

I love single-petaled yellows! This one is one of the loveliest new, single yellows I've seen in a long time. What a hilarious label, too. Probably the ONLY rose in commerce with the word "tottering" in its name. :-)

Glad you like it.... the late David Austin Snr, named this rose... he especially wanted to call it that, apparently, from what I understand..

I use to not like singles.... but I am finding that I now like certain ones.... Tottering is one that I think I will look into. Thanks for suggesting it.... your picture is lovely.

Wow. I'm ordering this for my friend's garden. He's putting in Lemon Zen and Golden Wings this year for single yellows and this would make a lovely addition perhaps growing near Sally Holmes. Thank you for posting.

Lilyfinch, I think you are very right...I love how the contrasting forms highlight the unique beauty of each rose. I learned about mixing forms here on the forum, and I love the effect.

This rose had my heart at the very first photo. It is just the loveliest, sweetest rose. How tall does it grow for you, Marlorena. I would love to have it in my garden.

Looks like a good one to bring a little diversity to gardens of predominately Austin roses. I think it would be charming in bouquets.

..thanks so much,... Ingrid, the tallest cane is about 6 foot...but it can be pruned shorter, but I have it on an obelisk, so I wanted some height... I'm letting it do its own thing for now... it seems to be a very tolerant rose, needling little attention. I think it makes a very pleasant change amongst fuller roses, and suits the gently flowing English country style of gardening...

Thank you for sharing your t-b-g, Marlorena! I love singles, and love that the bees also love singles, and think this one would look great in a landscape with other roses & flowers.

Definitely on my wishlist, if I can figure out a spot for it!

Old thread here, I know. But I just bought this one today (finally!) -- so I"m looking forward to seeing the lovely yellow flowers and happy little bees! :-)

I'm just wondering how big it will get in So Cal.

The Cloudless Sulphur Butterflies would go wild over Tottering by Gently here. They love yellow flowers.

I think that Morden Sunrise would make a nice substitute for Tottering if you live in an area where you can't get the Austin rose. And it will be lots cheaper. Diane

Sorry I am so late but just saw this thread..... thank you for the photos of Tottering! I will be planting 3 TBG as soon as they arrive, cannot wait! They will grace the base of a tall stone pedestal upon which a bust of Venus resides alongside a young Venus Dogwood tree. Single roses always grab my heart with their lovely simplicity as do the flowers on Venus Dogwood.

Has anyone received roses from Regan yet? I am receiving Austins, Palatine will be delivered today as well as Edmunds but no word from Regan. Sun is shining, horses and burros are vaccinated for another year, roses are arriving and I cleaned and turned on my lion fountain for the season.....life is good! Hugs to you all!
