Stacked washer dryer - is this normal?

We just got a new washer dryer, GE if that matters.

The dryer seems to stick out over the washer and it just...seems wrong or maybe just bugs me. Is there something wrong with how it’s installed and it can be fixed? Or do I just have to get used to it?

My older stacked washer/dryer combo from Kenmore (rebranded Whirlpool) is just the opposite. I'm assuming your picture has the front of your combo on the left. My dryer is offset toward the rear of the washer by an inch or so.

Looking at your picture.... the only thing I can think of is that the rear clips connecting the dryer to the washer are reversed and upside down. You'd have to get the installation instructions for your particular model.

    Good Luck.... Gusman

It looks right but check out the video.

The dryer is usually set a bit back to facilitate access to the washer's dispenser drawer although all brands may not follow that convention.

If this is the GE GFD14 dryer, then the stacking was done correctly as shown on page 25, step 2 of the installation instructions.

That video is for a different model. Its brackets do not wrap around the dryer chassis.
