Decor for dining room

Hi, I have a new build house and we have recently moved here..the dining and kitchen is together..My kitchen is all white and flooring is light grey. I want to add colors to this room.
any suggestions pls on what can be done on the walls. we would avoid painting it for a year or so (as advised by builder)

Can you take a pic looking into the kitchen so the spaces should work together.

I'd say a big print/picture on the wall, a nice light fitting (I can only see a bare bulb).

Hi. I'd find a paper you love and then paint the walls to complement or contrast whichever you prefer. It's often best to work with the light in the room depending on which way the room faces although as its a dining room you may want something more dramatic

wow, thank you so much for all your great ideas!!! Unfortunately I cannot move the table centrally as it would block the way between the kitchen and the stairs/ doorways... I like the ideas of moving the pendant lights right above the table, installing a large mirror on the empty wall..I could actually move the sideboard there and add nice baskets for shoes next to the door . Also add a big painting above the table. Gonna give a few try to see what works! and agree the blind doesnt look good, it was just previously there. Thanks :)

I would probably put in more though. Fairly close to the walls. Have them on different switch from chandelier/pendant above the table. Leaning mirror could be fun. Or a grid of mirrors on the wall. The chimney breast would be the obvious spot for a mirror, but you could hang a piece of art on there too. The window reference was more meant in the sense of that a mirror reflects light and gives depth. It all depends on how you're going to place furniture too. No doubt it will become a very cosy dining room :-)

Why not add some other bright colors to this dining room by changing your set of dining table and chairs like the following pictures?

Or just change the chairs with the following plastic chairs:

It’s difficult to advise on half a room, but what’s lacking is accessories. Artwork, shelving, mirrors, lighting, more plants will help jazz it up. Are you going to put up curtains? You could put up a pair of patterned, ready made curtains to cosy it up. A geometric pattern in grey, or any colour you love, would look fab. Next and Dunelm have a nice selection.

sorry I am replying late.. pls find images of the room..

so I was thinking to have a set of frames on the wall on top of dining table with some quotes and colorful artwork .. on the right wall above the plant I was thinking to have a wall clock and on the left side next to door, thinking to have a display unit in oak to match my dining.. Are my thoughts okay ??

I was thinking to add a rug but I have an active 4 year old so not sure if it's a good idea..
