Hard Surface Basement Flooring???

What flooring do you have in your basement? Do you love it? If not, what would you love?

We have a nice basement - 10 ft ceilings; doesn't feel like a basement at all. Includes an en suite guestroom, mirrored workout room, another full bath w/steam shower, bar area, family room, sun room, and home theater (the black carpet will stay in there - it's DARK!). This was a prominent builder's home for 15 years. We are the second owners and so have "the best of everything from 1991" (LOL).

Right now, we have very fine carpeting in the basement; however, we have cats and so clean up a lot of puke/hairballs every April that stain the carpet until we have it cleaned. . .

We have been teleworking since March and have saved our "gas money" and would like to put a hard surface downstairs. We were thinking LVP or LVT, but I read that can devalue a home. Is that true? For a higher-end home, what would you recommend for basement flooring?

We are another couple who had actually planned to retire (me July 2020; DH January 2021) and downsize considerably and ended up feeling very grateful to our home for sheltering us through this C-19 mess. I don't want to devalue it… and we may never move…. what hard surface would you recommend? Thank you!
