You have a lovely home to work with. I would say don't underestimate mirrors for making a room look twice as big. Have you considered giant mirrors, or mirroring an entire wall? How about the curved wall? I would pay attention to lighting also, as great lighting can make your home look a million dollars and more spacious. I would make a focal point with television resting on a gorgeous storage cabinet, place wall picture frames on wall where tv is placed, this will draw attention to the art and cabinet rather than the tv itself. I would get highback armchairs and use them for both dining and lounge seating with a sofa. I like those Victorian card tables on wheels, that fold up, multipurpose. Only buy furniture you absolutely love, don't follow trends, follow your heart, after all you want to feel good at home. Don't be half-hearted follow your dreams, be confident. When you fully execute your interior passion you'll be happy and others who come to your home will sense you and credit your style as being authentic, true to you and they will love it as much as they love you.

Have a look at our pro page as we have some designs on there that suit sloped roof rooms - the secret is planning well to eek out as much storage space as you can. Sometimes, you can even access space behind the low walls into eves with drawer storage between the uprights ? (As long as this is done safely and no chopping out essential bits !!! ) so always good to have a professional install ! If you are in south of UK you could maybe look at Lamco ( they are on Houzz if you do a pro search ) As they make beautiful dressing rooms !

My first thoughts are: 1. Create a full height built-in cupboard with doors around the boiler/electric, with a couple of shelves and potentially a rail to hang coats. 2. Relocate the dryer (is it blocking the electric meter cupboard?) or sell and get a washer/dryer combi? 3.Plaster the walls. If you're on a budget and handy, you can dry-line the walls (battens or dot & dab some plasterboard to the walls) then tape and fill the joints and paint (popular in America) without the cost of paying a plasterer to skim. 4. Can't see what's on the floor but a good coir entrance matt to fill the whole space would work.

Hi, congrats on your first home together! I'm struggling to get my head round the floor plan. Is there really no access to the living room from the hall? Nor to the kitchen? I think the L lends itself well to a dining area up by the kitchen and cosier seating in the other part. You could be bold and use different colour schemes to denote the different areas (perhaps with the dining area continuing the colours/style of the kitchen so they feel connected?) or just your furniture, rugs and lighting to change the feel of the spaces. Is there a nice view out through the conservatory that you'll want to be facing? Might you like to fit a fireplace on the end (garage) wall to give a focal point to the sitting room? Are you bookcases and house plants people? Good luck!
