Hello Gabby, The Kardean finish you picked looks lovely. I would definitely stick with it. And if you really love the table, there is no reason not to keep it. I sometimes find it's better not to have your wood finishes so match matchy. It's good to see different tones, rather than similar ones that don't match. Having said that, there are stains that will help whiten the wood tone on your table, so it can be slightly paler and less orange. If so, this can be an option? Otherwise, you can consider adding a table runner to the table and dress it up with plants. A rug is also a great idea. I wouldn't worry too much about spillages. If you get a flat weave rug that isn't made of 100% wool, they tend to be pretty easy to clean nowadays. Below is a reference image. Agreed you are probably battle weary and over thinking it. Indeed you liked previous floor which you had no input in. Laminate will give you same problem in trying to find suitable colour. I find if I cannot make a decision something is wrong with my choices and I was like you with many samples but didn’t like anything. Perhaps you need to give it a break for a while, or if it’s something you must decide soon, be open to something completely different colour wise. I imagine you are looking at similar colours that you think will work but none are, so maybe this needs to be re thought through and perhaps introduce new colour options. That’s what I did and eventually family chose as we were all getting fed up! Whilst it’s not at all what I would have said I wanted at the outset, I don’t mind it at all now and colour works well. Perhaps post images of the furniture you are trying to compliment and ask for suggestions? You can also look at different manufacturers. Thanks Sonia, I really like that geometric floor, I'll have to have a search for something similar. We're keen to avoid plain as our previous house was very minimal and now in the new house we're trying to have a little more confidence with adding just a touch more character to each room.
