Custom bunkbeds - low ceiling height

I'm looking for some inspiration please, has anyone built custom bunk beds in an awkwardly shaped room I.e. low and sloping ceilings? Our daughters bedroom is the loft conversion and the ceilings slow all the way round, we are trying to think about how we can maximise the space and whether we can create bunkbeds for them and so increase floor space

Something like this but not sure of room dimensions (clearly not as many beds as pictured (!) and i think keeping the ”bed” in the wall colour helps the room feel bigger as in the 2nd pic)

Hello, we agree- this kitchen is rather dated, however there are some things you can try before completely stripping out- A client of ours had a similar kitchen in their new house; it was dark + dated, though the cupboards were in good condition. We lifted the space by changing the worktop to a much lighter granite and added metro tile splash back with grey grout. We also changed the appliances and lifted the cabinet over the new hob in order to fit a pull out extractor; and comply with modern building regulations. In your case I would suggest doing all these things- change appliances, instal a new tap/ sink, new lighter granite worktop (you could also try quartz but granite tends to be more timeless) and a lighter tiled splash back- you could use a herringbone pattern to divert interest from the cabinets. Also perhaps new handles will immediately update the look. You could also try a ceiling mounted extractor for the island. However if you do go for a new kitchen and can't sell the old- freecycle is a great way to get rid of the old cabinets in a sustainable way!

Thanks, we couldn't be happier with it! I think it'll still be okay in your room as our picture rail visually lowers the ceiling in ours. Also I often think the room would look much more balanced if it were even little wider so yours is perfect. I imagine your ceilings are just above where our picture rail is. The mirror we went for is 80cm square but we could have gone up to 90cm so hopefully that gives you a guide to the space above the mantle. We went with a the Gallery Bartello surround, Capital stove, Stovax iron fascia and custom honed slate hearth. Ended up ordering them all separately and getting an independent company to fit it all. They did a brilliant job so if you're inside the M25 I can pass on their details if you like. It was more complicated to co-ordinate than just getting everything from one place but it worked out an awful lot cheaper and I didn't have to compromise on anything (and my husband will tell you I hate compromise!).

But that might be too optimistic? There are also beds that lift up at the foot end to reveal storage. Or have drawers under it that you can access from the sides. But you need enough space at the sides of the bed for those to be practical. Careful measuring necessary. Looks like a lovely apartment :-)

Hey revellclose, thank you for your sharing! I was hoping if there is any photo that you can share where a person is in the picture (I just want to get a feel of how it looks like for a 2 meter ceiling when a person is walking around...) Do you have a wide angle/panaromic photo too? eager to hear from you as I am also thinking of doing something similar, but major concern is the ceiling height.... Thanks in advance, and take care!
