Everhot dilemma

Calling all Everhot owners! We are renovating a house and plan to install an Everhot 120i (in a large open plan kitchen/dining/living area) In our current house we’ve always had an oil-fired Aga, which we normally switch off in the summer, and use a separate standard electric oven during those months. Do Everhot users find they need turn their stoves off in the summer, thereby needing to use a separate electric oven? Or do you keep the Everhot ticking over on low and remember to turn up the oven in good time in order to use it? (I understand they take a while to get up to temperature). I’d rather not put in an extra oven, but I’m worried I’ll miss the convenience (and having an oven with a timer option is quite handy too).

    Not an everhot owner, but the first time i came across an everhot stove was when i was fitting kitchens and i installed a kitchen for a retired farmer and i had to leave space for an electric everhot stove and they still had an oven and hob for me to fit (which was for summer use). i was very impressed with the everhot especially how well built it was and how easy it was for their fitter to install (it was all square and plumb which i haven't seen with an aga)

    Hi! I’m following the comments, hopefully you’ll get some more because I’d like an Everhot but not sure whether I want the little stove to be additional to a gas hob/electric oven or whether to invest in a big Everhot cooker. I’ve grown up with a gas Aga in my parents home and in summers they’ve always turned it off and used the microwave and camping stove!

    Hi Liz, we’ve recently been to a brilliant Everhot cookery demo so I had the opportunity to ask the question. Basically, to get a low oven up to temperature quickly, you can turn the grill on and then switch it over to oven. The grill only takes a few minutes to heat up, so timing wise it isn’t dissimilar to heating up a conventional oven. (The 120i comes with an induction hob, so that won’t be an issue in hot weather). We’ve ordered our Everhot and won’t be ordering any extra ovens, and can definitely recommend going to a demo if you can. Hope that helps..
